Hi all,

Is anyone else receiving phantom comment counts on their SS posts. Noticed it yesterday. My song on SS showed x number of new comments ... went in and replied to all but it still said I had one new comment. Checked to make sure I didn't miss a reply ... nothing missed. So I counted the number of comments on my song and it did match up ... one short. Got worse today ... now have 3 phantom comments (number of actual comments is 3 short of the comment count shown on the profile page) ... and again I check to make sure I didn't miss a reply .. nothing missed ???

Is the count just off or are some comments not showing up ????

hey sweety, what can happen is someone listens and then gets distracted from the computer (darned life can do that at times) by the time they come back with the intention of writing a comment (and they do), the inactivity for the prolonged period of time has caused the page to time out.
Consequently when the person submits their comment, instead of commenting taking them to your profile as it does with a live page, it will take them straight back to the front page of subs. Now some folks will notice this and realise what has happened but most will not. You will get notification that you have a new comment but it wont show
All you can do is imagine the lovely comment someone has left you...and I know it would never be anything but super cos you deserve super

I have one on mine too, Amanda. I get them every once in a while and they can be annoying

I have one too, it's a bit irritating... I poured over the comments very carefully trying to make sure I didn't forget a reply... but it was a ghost comment.

Makes ya wonder...

then of course there is the anally rententive jerk who clicked their way thru a song so as it recorded over a thousand listens. It was hilarious sitting watching the listen count go from zero to several hundred in a matter of minutes...I figure someone with a lot of time on their hands has some kind of program that can do it for them....though why is beyond me

Wow. I think my record for that is like 20... I feel deprived now It could be either, program or no life... seems to come with online, the no life thing.
