New to the site and loving it. I've been DJ/KJing for several years and have started losing the drive. Don't sing much anymore, but would love to start recording again. I haven't recorded since the multitracks with cassette were popular. Can anyone help me with what I need for doing subs to this site?
I ended up on MySpace Karaoke today, and downloaded their recorder. Not impressed. Ran my mic from my mixer to the computer to sing with their music, and got a nasty little delay.
How about some help oh enlightened ones.

To complete your registration, you need to run 3 laps through "The Lounge" forum, nekkid, then post back here, with pics as proof that you did it. (you have 15 minutes..go)

Then you'll get the answers you're looking for.

(innitiation here is kinda rough, but it's not so bad once you just do it... really)

:D

Ok. Posted above at 7:11... you have until 7:26 to be done.

I'll give you a break, since you seem a bit shy....

Rather than post the pics here, you can PM them to me. I'll vouch for you;)

If you have a way to record into your computer (sounds like you do) here are some free software programs you can use to record and submit, google these:

Audacity- Multi track recording

WinAmp w/ Sax & Dotty's zip player- to play cdg files on your pc

Audiograbber- to rip cdg to your hard drive

Hmmmm.. I have a pic editing program that can lighten photos very nicely with a click of a button (it brings out all kinds of details), so no worries about the lighting. But it's ok, I'm a patient person. (soooo not true)

Just funning with you, I hope I didn't alter your image of this site. We can sure use more people with your lighthearted attitude.

Give me a ring if you need help with recording. I'm no techie, but I've been around the block a time or two - and I'd be happy to help ya out... if I can.

My mixer has a record out. I just bought Thursday a new recording product. I am just testing it today. It is an American Audio Pocket Record. It appears to have all the features I need. I am going to use it to record singers and sell them to them. It retails for $200, but I got it for far less. $135, I have a good connection. It is obviously not multi trak, but hell, nobody is going to get a recording contract from a karaoke recording.

I will let you know how it sounds later if you like.
