Hi again,
After a couple days of your help i give up converting my stereo system and decide to go for a quality and simple PA instead. And no we don't do heavy partying just nice jazz/blue/pop songs so my sole purppose is Quality !
So far i collected these information:
Mixer: Yamaha MG82CX vs EMX312SC 150 vs 400 is it worth the 250 different?
Mic: Behringer xm8500 : 40/pair - Shure SM58 : 200/pair again is it worth the diff?
Speakers: Yamaha? BR12 - 400/pair...

So is it good for a quality system?
Oh btw what 's the computer for? Source of songs?
Thanks again guys.
Dave,

Well the difference between the 2 mixers is the EMX is a powered mixer - has the amp built in, the other you would still need a separate amp which would make the pricetage equal or higher than the powered. For hom use this would be fine.
The mics I personally feel the difference is worth it, but others have found the Behringer mics to be satisfactory & again for home use will probably be more than adequate.
The BR12 would again be more than adequate for a nice home system.

About the Mics: I use the Berhingers at home and generally when I need a corded mic on stage. I have a singer or two that actually do better with the SM58 I have. I don't think it's the location of use (Home or Stage) as much as it's the dynamics of the voices involved. I personally don't sound any different on either mic and I don't think most singers do.

However if you have someone who can do good Mariah/Whitney/Celine songs then the Shures will certainly be a better mic. Honestly I can't tell the difference between the mics until we get into the full and far ranges but it could simply be my ears aren't as good as other ears.

I like your equipment list because I am a Yamaha fan. You can get better sounding gear but in most cases you'd need to spend at least 50% more to get it. Of course your mileage may vary :)

It is an excellent deal. And yes, it connects right up.

It's a decent deal, depending on the functionality. Just a heads up, if I'm not mistaken, the EMX640 is three generations old and would be closer to around ten years old than two years old. It was a well built head with adequate features, limited fx, bridgeable, a little on the heavy side by today's standards.
