I am looking for the best unit for my house. I need something that will play cdg's and DVD's. I have seen a few out there. For example, V2go-100, Cavs DVD 203g, and the Vocopro 399k and 777k.These are what I saw online. Any other brands that you know about will be considered as well. I already have an Vocopro and Spacetech vocal mixers. I only need single disc to serve my karaoke and movie watching needs. If anyone can help lead me to the best quality and lowest price, I would greatly appreciate it. I need something a little more versatile. I want to retire my GPX unit.

Heya TRD,

Well, opinions vary, but the V2go-100 has been discussed on here before, and the Cavs DVD 203g is slow loading (as is the RSQ Neo machine). And I've heard some horror stories about those two machines. A friend of mine had the later JB199, and I owned the JB-99... while they play the discs, there are timing issues, and I've heard they break down more. I know I didn't own that JB-99 for very LONG!

I've seen various Aceonic machines in use, and they appear to be ok, but again, seem to have a short life.

Unfortunately, I have seen virtually no machines I'd be able to recommend as players for any kind of serious playing... maybe the Pioneer v555, but you're talking a pretty expensive machine!

Heard a horror story about CAV's players today.

Guy had one and got a power spike so he took it to a place to get it fixed and they told him they found the problem but would need a schematic so they would know exactly the part was. He called Cav's and they told him no way, That he would have to ship it back to them and they would have to ship it overseas to get it fixed and he would be paying it all because it was out of warranty.

Don't know what he did after that.

SOOOOOOOOO don't buy Cav's if you think you might ever need it fixed.
