Just tried sax n dotties on mine and i think I've realised whats going on.
When a song isn't playing have you got the scroller bar at the top (or bottom) with the picture of a microphone and the words "Show Presenter" showing ?
If so, what I did originally was to click on the corners of this screen and shrink it (drag with mouse) until its just a thin bar enclosing the moving "next performer" words. Then you can move it where you want.
Hope this helps

yep thats what i just done ,i think i might of confused it to because i was calling it the performers screen when in fact its the audience screen.
what i was hoping to do with the audience screen is put my own picture or business logo on then if i could of done but the scroller somewhere near the middle.
i know how to change the pic but no luck with the scroller i guess.

Hey guys. I just put a CD+G disc into my laptop and tried playing it through S&D, but S&D wouldn't play it. Anyone know why this would happen?

You are right - S&D only plays ripped tracks.
The S&D situation is solved (THANK GOD).
We used the cdgrip software, which is OUTSTANDING! Only one minor complication -how do you automatically name the tracks? Their website says the cdgrip comes with " Online CDDB/FreeDB Lookup ". Is that true?

It does do it, but as I don't have a tutorial on it, can't helpyou!
I use audiograbber, which has an icon with three dancing penguins. WHen you click it, they dance a gig, and then when they're done, if someone has uploaded the disc to the database, it changes the names!

At the bottom of the screen click PREFERENCES. Then select CDDB SEARCH as the preferred AUTONAMING PREFERENCE. You may also wish to activate PERFORM CDDB SEARCH AT REFRESH, otherwise you'll need to click the CDDB LOOKUP button after each refresh to obtain the listings.
FYI! Do yourself a favor and click the "Click Here for Important Warnings and information regarding CDDB Lookup" link to the right of the CDDB Lookup button on the main screen for a great explanation why I don't use the CDDB Lookup feature, I use the FastTracks V2 lookup instead.

Not true. If you have a cdg capable drive and the cdg disc plugin you can go to the file view in Sax N Dotty, select the track you want rom the cd in the cd drive and you will get a pop up window to enter the singer info and the song will then be put into the queue just like when you select a mp3&g song. Select play and it will play, with a graphics window, however you can only have 1 graphics window with the cdg disc plugin unlike being able to have 2 with the mp3&g plugin.

Well, like I have previously stated, our start-up costs have been used up. There is nothing more we can buy until we do our first show (which is a week from Saturday). I will try the free version with CDGrip. Hope to God it works!
Again, thank you ALL for your input. If not for you guys, we would still be in the dark.

So, the song titles and artists won't show up unless you are on the net??? Does that mean every time you use S&D, you have to be online?

once you rip them named, it's permament.
Thanks RLC. I THOUGHT it might, but as it's been so long since I had Sax (only beta tested it with a cracked copy, and didn't like it. Deleted it), and I never played around with a disc IN the drive. Only the hosting part.
