Well I bought the Power Karaoke cd+g copier,burner program. I copied one of my cdg's last night. Then I ripped it to my hard drive in a mp3 format. I still don't know if this worked as my player is down at my bar. Well its not a bar yet as I'm still waiting on my alcohol license. Should only be about a week or two though. I did a "dry run" this past saturday with just a few friends and everything did pretty well.I have a behringer powered mixer with same brand speakers and mics. No sound issues, pretty clean sound, and plenty of volume. Right now all I have is discs and a player from ace karaoke. I think its the dx 109. Back to the power karaoke program. Does it have a way of labeling your tracks instead of just numbers. I don't know a whole lot about it ,but it will be a big hassle if I have to go back and rename every track by hand. Oh and this forum is great. I have gained aa tremendous amount of info here. Thanks.

it's supposed to be able to name the files via CDDB. requires being connected to the internet. it is also able to rip to mp3+g and MP3+g zipped.

I meant mp3+g. I'll try the internet thing in a little while. Right now I'm going down to open up my restauarant and give my copied disc a try to see if it works. Also I copied the mp3+g's onto a flash card as my player supposed to play it. This could be the best feature as I could load about 7 or 8 discs on one card and keep down the amount of discs on hand until I can get a new laptop. I'll check in later and let you all know how it worked out.

This is the best ripper out there. It should name the files, but you have to tell it to search once it sees the CD.

Format is important!!!

For ease of use, and future import capability you should use this:

{disk}-{track} - {artist} - {song}

Save as a zipped mp3, Don't rip faster than 24x, and compress at a 256 bit rat or higher. This will take longer, but the quality of your compressed tracks will sound better.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try again later. The copied disc did not work in my player. It will play the music only on a computer but nothing on my player. When you try it in the player it plays but no music or graphics. Just shows the disc is being played. You can ff and rewind to different tracks but no music or graphics. The sd flash card shows the tracks on the computer but nothing when I put it in the player. It doesn't evn recognize that the card has been put in. I've never used power karaoke before. This is what I did. I put one of my cd+g discs in and pressed copy. Then when it was done I inserted a blank disc and when finished I thought it was good to go but it didn't work. Oh well I'll take any tips or hints from anybody.

What player are you using? A Karaoke machine won't play mp3+g or zipped files. One of the newer Karaoke/CD/DVD players will play the mp3 portion of a mp3+g, but you won't get lyrics, just music. If it's your place, you can bring in and old desktop PC until you get your laptop. There are inexpensive and even free programs you can use to get started with once you have your discs on a hard drive or other digital medium.

Yeah, it sounds like you made a data disk with compressed karaoke files, instead of a CDG.

Hey guys my player supposed to play mp3+g files. Its the new one from Ace Karaoke, DGX 109. I haven't got to fool with it much except using it as a standard player. Also the disc I copied didn't work either. I know its probably something I'm doing wrong. Maybe I'll get it soon. I wonder if its got to be something with my drive. How does some one find out if there drive will copy a cdg. like I said it copied the disc but it came out as a standard audio cd on a computer. Nothing at all on my player. Like I said maybe its the drive.
