Hey guys I downloaded the trial version and I have to say it really is a great program. One thing I was wondering about though. I know the CDG Rip is a free download, but will the freedb lookup feature work well enough to go ahead and start ripping all my discs to my hard drive. I currently have Supercore 6 and 8, and have a Sweet Georgia Brown set. I mean can I go ahead and rip my discs with the freedb autonaming feature and hope everything works good when I am done, or should I wait and do it with FastTracks. Just trying to go ahead and get some of this stuff out of the way. Still gonna get some more RAM for my laptop. The 500GiG Seagate harddrive is working great too. Man I love that compuhost program, I even got the dual monitor thing working perfect too.

FreeDB works okay, but sometimes it doesn't come up with the artist's name. I use Fast Tracks, you don't need the plus version to work with compuhost. I would get the lifetime subscription for database updates though.

I'm in the process of ripping my disks using CDG Rip and FreeDB. FreeDB works fine but you have to pay attention and be prepared to a lot to typing. Quite often the disk you're ripping will not have been entered into the database or it was entered filled with errors. The most common being the artists first name first rather than last name first. Big problem being consistency and not matching your book format ID wise, this does slow down the process. That said it's still faster than having to type in every entry, just watch for errors.

I have all 3, Compuhost, Cdgrip, and Fasttracks V2. You can rip all of your cdgs into Compuhost songlist, then when you get Fasttracks, just export the songlist to Fasttracks. I would suggest exporting by Manufacturers Id# rather than Compuhost song #. It really is a nice system, and as a hunt and peck typist, it probably saved me YEARS of typing. Good luck.

FastTracks,,, all the way! I've only ever had to hand type my songs in to the list and it was a new release.
