I know a few KJs that take the liberty to change key on singers without being asked. I personally don't do that, though I have suggested it before to some singers if I think it would help; when tried, they have been pleased with the results.

Yeah, I had this happen to me and it made me mess the song up. A KJ should never "assume" that a male singer cannot sing a high tenor song. There are many of us out there that can sing the song in its proper key.

My favorite KJ, not only doesn't EVER do this, but he actually comes up with song suggestions for me. He knows my style (Simply Red, Styx, Little River Band, Toto, Gary Puckett, etc.) and range and that I am always looking for new songs to sing to keep it fresh. Now that is a KJ host!

anyone ever notice if you have multiple brands.... I had a singer the other night I started a song (Sound Choice in the key of "D"), and he said it was to high and asked for the chartbuster version. well I started it, and it also said it was in the key of "d", But it was Noticably lower.

I have noticed that some brand name songs are totally horrible! Wrong key, and even the words were wrong!

Never had a problem with Sound Choice...........yet. Some people have told me at the higher numbers on Sound Choice, you will get some versions of songs that aren't as good. I haven't run across that yet and I have been singing some songs as far up as 8600 and something.

When I sing I pretty much stick with Sound Choice as I had a bad experience with a bad version of a song and blew it big time. I learn the songs in the key they were originally done in and with the correct words. It is annoying that some companies do not take their business very seriously to put out such crap.

Now don't get me wrong, I have heard some people do songs other than on Sound Choice, but it is hit or miss and I don't have enough experience to know which is good and which is not. Wish there was a way to hear at least part of the song somewhere so you can tell if it was done on a Casio as a midi file or actually recorded in a professional manner.

If anyone knows of a way to hear a sample of the song as it is on the CDG, please let me know. Thanks.
