What do you do when your mics cut off mid song and you haven't got King Erisson to keep the show going?......

Since I don't have King Errisson available, I use only wired mics with lifetime cables. They have been much more reliable than wireless mics.

Our singers start grabbing for another mic.

Anything major we manual fade to fill and they get a do over when its fixed.

Gawd I gotta do some Diamond tomorrow & wish I had that drummer. WE had a good outside gig going one time and I did Sooliman... It was awesome!!!!

Neil's band are seasoned pros. The newer non-talent would storm off the stage, kick the roadies, abuse the techs and blame everyone and everything, and not come back on stage. It's the difference between pros and prima donnas. But in my situation, I just grin and bear it, the KJ will fix it soon enough and let me start over maybe.

Thats what I try to tell folks here. Dont expect perfect sound or a stellar performance from self everytime. Learn to adapt to each system and make the most of it. Sing something new every night.

Then those times when the throat is moist and the sound is perfect comes more often than not. Learn to walk graciously and with humility then when it is time run with the wind. This is what music is all about.

Neil Diamond is one of my biggest inspirations. It is the only time I sing with a hard eastern accent. ROFL

Well, the guy's got charisma... he pulled that off very nicely:)

Singing at the local fair a couple years ago, I was handed a mic that cut out (sound guy turned off the wrong one, then couldn't figure out what he did) Atleast, he was on it, and threw me another one really quick. Kinda embarassing though.

It's cool the way Neil just starts from the beginning of the verse he was singing when the mics cut, and the band just picks up on his lead.

Hey, at least you know he wasn't lip-synching...
