Hey everybody I had my first karaoke show last night at our little bar in my restaurant. It did really well. Had about twelve or so singers plus me. Did a total of 35 songs. Not bad for the first time. I bought a cheap set of Nady Duo wireless mics, two for 50 bucks from American Music Supply. Iknow they're not much but they didn't sound too bad. Quite a bit of handling noise but otherwise they were allright. They are plastic but I was satisfied for 50 dollars. I really need more music. I had so many requests and didn't have what I needed. I came home and bought a few downloads from buykaraokedownloads.com. I got them downloaded but cannot figure out how to use them. I have been using cdgrip to rip all my cdg's to my hard drive. I also have been using Compuhost for my player. I have Power CDG Burner from Siglos. That is what they recommend. Just can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I would really appreciate a little help. If anybody has ever downloaded from Buykaroake download.com and got these going please help.

a little more info might be helpful. How is the downloads named? I know that I have to rename files from both Tricerasoft and karaoke-singles. got a handy renamer from deb's karaoke that makes naming them easy enough in batches.

You may need to remove the underscore "_" from the download.

Compuhost format files need to look like this:

SC8991-01 - Dixie Chicks, The - Not Ready to Make Nice.zip Note the spaces.

Frequently, download files look like this:

SC8991-01_Dixie_Chicks,The_-_Not_Ready_to_Make_Nice.zip

Put the file in the folder, Then go to songlist, and <import MP3>

Deb's renamer will do the trick. It's free.

downloads from buykaraokedownloads.com come in a zipped format.
you need to unzip them and change the names to the format you like such as artist - title - disc id or what ever compuhost reads. There are programs out there that will do it for you but you never know what format it is in when you download it from BKD. I have used them and they come in Title - Artist and Artist - Title but never have a disc id you would have to make up your own if you need to.

FWIW I use Buykaraokedownloads quite a bit and the files have always played fine as they are... all zipped up without any renaming... on my Siglos player and Karafun.

I have to agree with Bill H. I use Siglos as well and it has has no problem reading the zipped files at all.

Why?? Compuhost has NO problem playing zipped files, in fact most people I know are in fact using zipped files. As for naming, CH supports the six most common naming formats, and the latest release correctly deals with underscores.

I use compuhost, used buykaraokedownloads for the first time this weekend. All I did was put the downloads in my folder where compuhost pulls the rest of my music from, imported to compuhost naming them only artist and song and they work fine.
