You could hook your laptop up to your Yamaha by using a simple cable adapter from the laptops headphone jack to either of the Yamaha's stereo RCA inputs (channels 9/10 or 11/12). That would be the easiest way. A better way might be to use a USB interface and bypass your laptops soundcard entirely. Don`t Mic Cables have 2 different ends on them?

If you mean one male and one female then yes Mic cables have two different ends. You can get adapter cables that have XLR on one end (either male or female) and T/R/S 1/4" on the other if that's what you need. There are also just adapters that would convert a regular XLR to 1/4" T/R/S. Be careful if you go the second route as a vast majority of these adapters are XLR to just a T/S on the 1/4" end. I usually just make my own cables to suite my applications, it makes life much easier for me.

I thought the end of a mic cable xlr that plugs into the mic was different then the end that plugs into the mixer? But from what I understood you to say was that I could just use a regular mic. cable to go from amp. to mixer correct?

Yes you can go from the mixer to amp with a standard mic cable with XLR ends on each end.

Thanks for the reply Lonman but I have a question someone stated that I couldn`t use a speakon to 1/4" adapter with this amp.? Do you know of an adapter of this type I could use or would I have to buy the whole cable? I`m sorry for all the questions but I`m considering buying these 2 pieces and I want to be informed as much as I can. Thanks again...

Like said if you do not know how to rewire the Speakon end for bridge mode, then it will be a whole lot easier just using the binding posts with the banana plug to 1/4" adapter.

Then just daisey chain off of speaker #1. Could I run more than 2 speakers with this daisey chain config?

In a bridge mode you can ONLY run 2 8 ohm speakers maximum - as this will drop the ohms to 4 ohms which is the maximum load for the amp in bridge mode.
I wouldn't daisy chain the speakers, just get 2 of the adapters & plug them in piggy back to the amp then run to each speaker individually from the amp. Unless you have a distance factor, I prefer not to daisy chain.
Now if you know how to rewire for a series/parallel connection, you could hook more speakers up, but a lot more hassle than sometimes worth.

How can I piggy back those 2 adapters from looking at the pic. it doesn`t seem possible?

Yes one plugs into the amp via the banana plug, the other plugs into the back of the banana plug itself that is in the amp. I do it all the time.

The PLUG itself will plug into the other plug. When you plug it into the amp via the binding posts, the very top of the plug is another set of holes that another banana plug will plug into. Don't look at the cable or the 1/4" end. The plug will plug into the top of the plug.
