Can you explain why you can't upgrade both Sax & Dotty's and WinAmp to newer version to work with Vista? What was the OS version you were using with the software before you upgraded to Vista? WinXP SP1 2 or 3?

There is an option for Vista to work on legacy mode but I am pretty sure you need a version of software that was functional with XP SP3. If you were working with earlier OS, you may not be able to have them work without an update.

I think he might have a pirated copy if he is trying to run an older version since Sax only registers the newest version of the software and you have to register and pay for each copy. the program is locked to the computer it is registered too unless sax has given up on that.

S&D no longer support their older versions and if you need to upgrade you have to pay another fee. I didn't think this was fair and so I opted not to use their program. Who's to say that they will not do it again in another 6 months or so.

If he has an older legal version and it was on another computer he can not transfer it to the new computer, he would have to upgrade and pay the fee.

Lone Wolf
happy with Winamp and AutOKDJ for now at least.

My first thought also, but decided not to go there.

I believe you are correct Danny.

Yes, it is still locked to the computer it is registered to.

This is not true, for registered users of older versions all it takes is a civil email to Sax and he will help you out. He has continued to support my multiple licenses with just an email stating my concern or question.
