The article states that there is more to the story that's not yet known...
I figure poor rotation mixed with a bad sound system...

Or perhaps a bad rendition of "Paradise By The Dashboard Light"?

Might have been his use of filler music and spiral bound books too.

You people should be ashamed of yourself ..someone was murdered !!!
We all know it was the rendition of "picture" that drove this guy over the edge!
I have to revise my list of "types of singers" and add
Crazed Stalking Nut Job Singer

The last words they heard out of the poor KJs mouth were:
"Monitors, shmonitors, I don't need no stinkin' stage monitors!"

It's hard not to appreciate the attempts at humor here - For some reason this morning I just find it a bit over the edge. There is a woman who has lost her husband all because he happened to be accessible to someone obsessed with her.
It might be that because I have lost a very special person lately I'm just a little more sensitive about the finality of death. Sorry to bring ya down, guys.

Well his wife (of 15 months) seem surprisingly well composed in the news interview. It would not shock me if she was somehow involved in this, or at least in bringing it to this point.

Be careful when you make those kinds of assumptions, although it is certainly a possibility. Going to bed with Prince Valium can make a person seem more composed than they would be normally.

I agree ..I don't think anyone is being malious or making fun of the loss of life ..just the fact that it had to do over Karaoke .

She does look a bit out of it. Probably a combination of lack of sleep and who knows what drugs.
Remember, they can edit and make an almost totally incoherent person seem like they have something meaningful to say, so it wouldn't be a stretch to think that they edited out the portions of her crying and showing her emotions.
On the scary side, the killer looks alot like a kook that comes to one of my shows. He lost his temper after one of the unfair karaoke contests and tried to beat up the winner.

My point was based on the Wife not seeming to be emotional, and I find it odd the whole myspace relationship thing. It may be nothing, but it does seem odd!

Shame on you folks! This isn't the least bit funny, and the wife looks like she's in complete shock. An honest business man, loved by his wife, and surely loved by the karaoke patrons at that bar lost his life to some nut job.

Dark humor is a coping mechanism, and always crops up after tragedy. I remember hearing space shuttle jokes the next day after the Challenger explosion.
We laugh...so we don't cry.

I was going to try to post something funny when I first saw this post but I didn't want to get attacked for being insensitive......AGAIN.......but now since everyone else has taken their shots at humor......I'll just say that the KJ shouldn't have been singing all of those bogus customer "requests" that we all hear so much about and he shouldn't have taken that "tip" to let someone sing out of turn either. Some people REALLY don't like to get skipped.

not to sound more callous than I already do but it was incidental he was a Karaoke host. He could have been a regular bar patron whose wife drew the attention of a nut case. The only reason we're even hearing about him is because he was a KJ. Were he not he'd be one of those thousands of nameless, faceless people who die for no good reason every year.
At least let us have our dark humor over it. There but for the grace of god...

I guess that story just hit a little too close to home for me. As a dad of two little girls, the idea that some schmuck could do this just seems such a waste. Being one to crack a joke at any opportunity, I'm just having trouble finding the humor.
Not that I don't see it, it just seems a little hurtful. Most KJs I know are some of the nicest people...

Yikes, I posted this in the karaoke forum of a DJ board as "A killer show" and commented, "I promise I'll let you sing next! Just don't hurt me!" and was told I was being tacky since someone died.
Thanks for those who posted other humorous remarks.
There but for the grace of God go us.
