Interesting. The Yamaha website says it is 478mm in length.

According to "The Google": 478 millimeters = 10.7536558 Rack units.

So I would go with 11!

It is 11. It will not fit in the hard-edged 10-space racks -- I have tried it. It has extra space in a 12-space rack. And I currently mount it in this rack, which is an open-ended 10U:

Which looks like this:

In case you didnt know already, the Google calculator will handle rack units. Just type your equation into the search engine in the form of a question. ex: "17 inches in RU" or "23RU in Millimeters". This will work for practically any form of measurement conversion BTW just in case you want to know how many "Stone" you weigh or how many "hands" tall your kids are. :P

For example, I just learned that I am 39.4285714 Rack units tall. That should impress the ladies.
