Hi all

I use S&D karaoke player to run a karaoke show at the end of the night. I do a sort of one man band thing to start out the night using the few zipped CDGs that I have.

My questions are:
1. is there a way to create a playlist for continuous play of zipped CD+G in S&D, so I don't have to select a song and hit play each time?

2. Is there a winamp plugin that will play zipped CDG without needing a third party software like S&D?

I do not want to unzip my files. Is there a way to do what I need to do?

Thanks

Vic in Sydney

I don't know if you can do it in S&D but this is a link to some freeware that does exactly what you wanted. http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?30500000036644

Also, there is the Power Karaoke video/ipod converter, which transcodes the CD+G or MP3+G into a format for Windows Media Player, or for iTunes / iPod. So you could just convert the files and put them in a playlist.

Someone asked me do exactly this in the past. My reservations are
1. If ade a single Windows Media Player file for SET 1 it would limit my versatility as far as adding/ removing tracks into the mix if necessary.

2. I would love to maintain the CDG in zipped format as far as possible. computers frighten me sometimes, and I am using an old Acer which is quickly running out of space.

Thanks :)

Vic

do yourself a favour and upgrade your puter.
My laptop is no longer new (4 years old) but it handles playing of cdg plus using the windows search to be able to find and slot in songs outside the playlist, so as I can keep the crowd on the floor. And if your processor speed is reasonable then get an external harddrive for storage

Create your playlist by adding the songs you want into the queue of Sax N Dotty and then check the auto play box.

Hi Morgan

When you say - "why bother when you can put them in winamp and play continuously now"

Is there an excisting winamp plugin that will let me play the zipped files as opposed to having to unzip them?

I was googling this morning and found KARAFUN which aside from the crappy name does pretty much what I need. The only thing it doesn't have is the capability to save start cue points, which would be great to reduce gaps btween tracks. :)

I know I asking for a whole lot. I am going to try exweedfarmers program and let you guys know how I go.

Thanks EVERYONE who responded to my post. Really appreciate your help.

Cheers!

Vic in Sydney

Yes, there is. Autokdj, although you can no longer dl it from their site or from winamp, you can still find the version 1 beta available --> http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia ... OKdj.shtml

When installing unselect everything except the zip file plugin.
