Yes, the EON series is the JBL entry level series. I haven't tried the most recent iteration of EON's, but used both the original EON and G2's and was never happy with either one. The Mackie SRM's have always sounded better to me and the Yorkville cabinets perform very well too. Personally I'd still rather have something with a wood cabinet but most of thsoe are probably out of your pricerange so I think the Yorkville would be your best bet.

It sounds like I should take the 12" yorkvilles over the eons. Is the 550 watts continious?

I can't say for sure if it is continuous or not, I can probably find out. I do know that Yorkville DOES NOT use inflated figures when they list specs. I have been using Yorkvilles for a couple of years and have nothing but praise for the build and sound quality. I won't speculate to much on comparisons, but I will say that if I were at an event and I had a person using the EON's on one side and the 450 Mackie's on the other, I would probably be grinning from ear to ear.

If that is continuous and you can get those at the price quoted and I can have this delivered by next Thursday, I'd like to go this route.

Integrated bar handles, 1/4-20 flypoints and integrated stand mount adaptor, as well as 1/4-inch TRS and XLR
inputs ensure the NX55P can be easily integrated into any live or DJ PA set up.
I hope this means that they are pole mountable?

Yes, 1 3/8 pole mount, PM me with a phone number and we'll see if we can't make this fly. You do realize when I said upper end of your budget I was referring to when you said you could probably stretch to 1400.00. It's still several hundred under retail. Anyway, let me know. I'm pretty sure they can be drop shipped directly from the Yorkville distributer to your house.

The wattage for the Yorkvilles is continuous and they are pole mountable. They are more durable and better sounding than the Mackies. Further, if somewhere down the road add the Yorkville 700W sub-woofers. Your only question will be "Why didn't I do this earlier"?

I certainly don't see why these won't match up with my Carvin LS1801NA?

They work fine with pretty much any sub, I think Timberlea was just suggesting that the LS700P is a great sounding powered sub that happens to be in the same family of the NX55P tops.

I agree with Timberlea. Buy the Yorkville NX55P speakers and a Yorkville LS700 sub. If you want to feel the thump in your chest, go for the Yorkville LS800PB. You just can't go wrong with the Yorkvilles.

I will buy the NX55Ps but I already have a great sub and this will zero out my budget.

You will not need to replace your current sub, it will work just fine .

good luck with your speaker choice
I had a pm the other day from someone who had seen what I wrote and decided to try my suggestion out here is what he wrote...
Hi Vicki,
Just a quick note to let you know that i took your advice. I went and ordered two Wharfedale monitors. I needed some monitors, so i thought why not give them a try. I love'em. They sound every bit as good as my peaveys, and EV's. They were cheaper, and the spec's are just as good. These are not powered, but i have several good power amps that i use. I ordered two twelve inch mains for my daughters set up as well. Here are a couple of pics of my new monitors. So you can add me to the list of those that use them, and think the same way you do about this product. Mine are built like a tank.

They aren't EASILY found in the US. Some stores sell a couple items, but not most of their available products. Even Wharfdales own site lists only 1 US distributor.

why not pm karaoke for food.....
that is his name complete with the dots so copy that into a pm box and I am sure he will let you know how he ordered them ...but as you see by his message they were considerably cheaper than his peavey and evs yet just as good, in fact I received another pm from him the following day and he says they out perform the peaveys
so if you can order them, it could well be worth your while to try
