Update:

Blade, buy the yorkies, put your 215's in the closet for a back up. I haven't had mine hooked up since.

My prom event last week was a smashing success. Everyone migrated from the usual indoor gym carnival stuff they have every year to the commons area. Room seats 250 but was packed for the last 2 hours. I couldn't turn the volume up quite where I would like as it was brought to my attention earlier in the week that some of the volunteer parents had concerns that the music would be too loud (sissies, most younger than me). I was able to crank it earlier in the day for setting up and several of us sang for a few hours. The sound filled up the entire commons area and sounded great no matter where you were in the area. Front to back, side to side. Along with the Carvin sub, I was satisifed and I received many compliments. I did get to turn it up at a decent level, just not where I would if the parents wouldn't have been there.

I can't compare to Mackeys or JBLs as I haven't been around them enough. I am very happy.

The 215'a have a steady light hiss when turned on and no music going thru. Same situation with the Yorkies---- can't tell they are on.

Thanks again JD.

One question JD. i am running my sub thru the Monitor Speaker (left monitor output) 1/4". Am I getting the best overall sound and volume with my PAs and sub this way? Mixer is Yamaha MG124CX.

Yes that would work. That's called an Aux fed sub, fairly popular these days. I think you could also accomplish the same thing by using your 1/2 switch and your ST Switch on your music channel on the Yamaha and running your sub off the group 1/2 fader. I'll assume you have your Carvin set @ 120Hz and letting the Yorkvilles handle every thing else. Make sure the NX55P's are set to 100hz so you don't have to much of an overlap, that could cause cancelling. By the way, the "In/Out" jacks on the back of the Yorkvilles are actually wired parallel in case you didn't notice. That might save you some grief down the road.
