A local karaoke legend does his own take on "Turning Japanese" by the Vapors. Trust me, it's just not the same if this guy doesn't show up. Imagine inviting this guy to your wedding and then him singing this song at your reception - and you'd never heard him sing this song before. I was dying laughing.

Is that Mike Schaffer?

If he's the guy I'm thinking of, he lives in Springfield, MO and has been to my show... Was that video done in 2007?

edit...

Yep, I googled "Karaoke with Ross" and see that he has shows all over Springfield. Gosh, I need to get out more! :)

Mike can do a lot better than that! As you know he has issues to overcome...

This is a song he gets silly on. He actually when being serious can carry a tune better than a lot of the other singers. The wife and I like Mike. We're always disappointed if he doesn't show.

He's a sweet guy!

What venue do you see him at? I usually hang out at Schultz and Dooleys for karaoke...

Ha! Thought you looked familiar!

ETA: Aren't you the AC/DC guy? I sing Kenny Rogers and KISS. And the occasional Metallica. What a combination. My wife is on a big Fleetwod Mac kick right now, which is alright.

Yeah, I like doing Bon Scott era AC/DC!

Ok, I think I know who you are now. You go to the Chesterfield Village - Shultz & Dooley's. I haven't been out there in a while... Need to get out there again soon!

They have AC/DC's Rock & Roll train now on disc, I think you should get it and sing it!

How's the South National one going? Are we missing anything?

I'd have to figure out how to sing it like Bon Scott would... The new guy is a screamer of epic proportions and it wouldn't work out if I tried to sound like him. :)

I haven't been out lately anywhere. Too much to do during the days... I hope to get out again soon though!
