I haven't bought it yet, but I'm looking at the K series sub right now. Waiting for the local shop to get one in so we can compare it side-by-side to the Mackie 1501. The Mackie is a 500 Watt single 15 and the K-series a 1000W dual 12. So I'll be curious to see which one actually moves more air.

Keep us posted Rip. The sub was the first item of interest for me. I'm looking at doing more than just my primary space and something more mobile than those 63lb Yamahas would be lovely. From what I read the 8" Kseries with a sub should do nicely for small/med venues and would weight less with the sub than the two C115Vs I have not to mention no need to lug the amp around (the RMX isn't the lightest thing).

I'm keen to hear what others think when they hear them.

It's in, one of the guys that works for me has purchased the K Series sub.

It's a very nice sub and hits very hard.

It doesn't have the rumble of a good 18" but It out performs most subs on the market in it's class.

I would take it over the powered QSC 15" or the Powered Yorkville 15"

So I ordered one of the K12 for now to use it as a singer's monitor. I heard the K10 at our local GC and it really sounded great for it's size. Once I have it and am able to test it out, I might get a second one and use them for smaller venues, where I really don't need my EV Sx500's.

What did you pay Sevarin? I have a sweetwater connection and I think I can get a small discount for others on this.

I got it for $720 from the OP's referred website, including free shipping. So not too bad of a deal.

I heard the K sub recently and it's very good, I was impressed. That's the first powered sub I really liked, but at 74 pounds it's kind of heavy for me. Rolling it around would be fine and I imagine I can lift it in and out of my van, but that's twice what my EV Sb122 subs weigh. Something to consider in the future maybe?

The K series at NLFX show $104 shipping for me. Not free HMMMM

I received an email from NLFX informing me that they were having a web system issue and the shipping was not void but it should be working now.
Anyhow, if anyone still experiences issues with web orders, just call 1-888-660-6696 or email specials@nlfxpro.com (ask for Ben) and mention the coupon code "KSERIES" to get 10% off along with FREE shipping.
Cheers...

I have seen reviews on other forums from those already using the Kseries.

Meanwhile, I still haven't seen a comparison between the QSC K and H series which is what the OP asked for

The K Series 8, 10 and 12 are replacements for the HPR 12 and 15s. They are much cheaper and sound better. In the speaker shootout between QSC K vs. QSC HPR, SRM, JBL, EV and FBT, the only thing that came close to the K clarity-wise, was the QSC H or EV. The K series are nearly a complete different set of technologies. To describe the difference would be that the other speakers' sound is resonating from a box. The K sound is "just there" like outside the box, very transparent with the added sub response. Otherwise, I don't think the K sub is necessarily a replacement for the HPR sub series other than overall efficiency, but it does sounds pretty good. Two would do the job.

I never used the QSC H Series. But I can tell you, the sound that comes out of this little K12 speakers is amazingly good. I will probably get a second K12 speaker so I can use a pair in smaller rooms, instead of my EV SX500's. Alone for the weight factor.

I had a friend setup a little shootout this past Friday night with the JBL Eon 15, K10 and K12 speakers; all new out of the box. Running some classic rock and a hip hop tune or two, we ran the speakers through their paces with the same signal path and sound source.

Ignoring anything except sound the Eons were wonderful. Nice, full and rich across all The full range of music except for a little muddiness in a couple of heavy lows with the hip hop tunes. Completely expected from the gold standard powered speaker.

The K12 put out sound as good as the JBLs and they didn't lose any clarity in the low range while providing a great chest popping thump. They didn't lose anything when they bottomed out but I don't know that they went quite as low as the Eons. That might just be my eyes listening to them since they didn't look like they could produce the sound they were putting out already. I was fairly surprised with them.

The K10s were nearly indistinguishable from the K12s in the normal rock and roll ranges but while clear all the way through the lows it lacked the thump that was wanted. Now I know it wasn't my eyes on that one and I suppose it's to be expected.

If I were going to be putting money into a system now and had to choose one of the three we heard I'd purchase the K12s without reservation. It's an awful lot of speaker in a very small compact package.

Now I just have to talk Wayne into getting the Ksub, HPR18, Yorkville LS800P and JBL EON518S for a hip hop shootout :)

You may also want to try the Yorkville LS700s, lighter than the 800s but give a great thump. Too bad you didn't get to test the NX55s (12in) or the NX750s (15 in) against the Eons and the rest.
