I recently puchased MTU Hoster and have started the process of ripping my discs. I have noticed that quite a few of the discs will come up unknown. I am using both databases available. Just wondering if I am doing something wrong.

If your using both data bases then I dont know what else to tell you. When I ripped mine it was like every 2 out of 10 were unrecognizable by Hoster. I also believe you have to be connected to the internet to use one of those data bases. It's been awhile for me and Hoster. I switched to compuhost about six months ago and havent looked back. Hoster is an excellent program though and I would reccommend it to anyone.

Compuhost isn't perfect. They cost me some hours because they didn't have one of Chartbuster essential updates. In their defense, when I went back to add it to my main library (did the recently added list first) they had it fixed after I brought it up.

I would like to hear from the compuhost users about their song database recognizing and naming their cdgs. The reply i got from MTU was not to my satisfaction. I still have a few weeks to get a refund and just may ask for my money back.

Compuhost itself uses Fast Tracks (a songlist software) to name their files or you can use CDDB which is basically FreeDB to name them. I personally believe that the Fast TRacks is the way to go as I believe that it has the most manufacturers in it's database and is constantly being updated. One thing is that you need to know how to type in the right ID in.
