spotlightjr, I am definitely NOT wanting relationship advice. I wanted to know how professional K.J.'s handle this situation. As someone else pointed out it is an issue that everyone who does this kind of work has or will experience at some time. I have never been jealous of my husband and his female friendships or acquaintances. But what this woman did was crossing the lines of what I felt was professional verses marital boundaries. I wanted to know how a K.J. feels when put in a similar situation and how they deal with it. You all gave me great answers that I appreciate more than you will ever know.
If anyone is interested my son and I went last night and I took support (or as they called themselves terminators.
) There were enough family types that have attend my husbands shows over the years that all I had to do was get ahold of one man, let him know what had happend and he showed up with 23 more people. I took 8. The young woman in question failed to show but she sent her best friend who sat quietly the whole time she was there while watching almost everyone of those 31 people get up to the mic and make a point of saying hello to me by name and mentioning what a wonderful relationship we have. The little spy didn't even sing and she usually does! I had a blast, it was one of the best shows my husband has ever put on and I stayed the entire night.
As a result it looks like this may have been a good thing to happen. This was being promoted as Family Karaoke and the crowd that we brought guaranteed that this is what it was, if all these folks hadn't shown up it would have been all rowdy college kids. My husband was surprised that some singers he had not seen in years showed up, he still doesn't know that it was done through outside efforts. But those people loved the show and vowed to be back and bring more families every week. They are establishing a toe hold over the rowdies at this show from the beginning and the owner of the restaraunt was thrilled because he was concerned that since he does not serve alcohol that he would have an issue with college kids bringing it in. Families eat and all who attended last night make him a big profit!
