Looking to upgrade my computer system and add a DVD dual-layer burner
capable of also writing cd+g. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

WIth the right programs, most of the newer DVD writers will also do cdg.
MTU Microstudio & Powerkaraoke CDG Burner are two of the better programs that work with more drives than others.
I have 3 different dvd drives, LiteON (Walmart $20), HP external ($200 at the time) & the built in that came with my HP tower that all work fine with MTU Hoster & Microstudio.

I still have a plextor, due to it was the first drive I had that could rip and copy CD+G's. This drive sucks. It is so finicky with the media it likes, it is barley worth using anymore. Like Lonman said, most new drives will work. When you look at the box of the drive for it's compatability list for copy, it will list it as CD Extra, instead of CD+G.

My newest drive I picked up at Best Buy for $70. A LG dual layer DVD burner. Works like a champ, and is a lot less picky about media than the Plextor. For copying, just go to the advanced tab, and check the Read Sub-Channel Data box.

I would recommend this one:

http://us.liteonit.com/us/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=67

Lite-On makes the best drive and they work perfectly for cdg  I also recommend going with a Sata model.
