Our Elvis impersonators have all been people who sang and sounded like him but didn't go through the whole act thing at karaoke. Of the two professional ones, only one had the white costume and he didn't wear it except rarely to fill a special request. So basically they were just really good singers who happened to do a lot of Elvis at karaoke. They ranged from beanpole to BIG guys to people who didn't resemble Elvis in the least. It might be weird if someone was doing their act as their turn for karaoke but just as singers, every one loved them.

yeah I have never seen anyone who actually RESEMBLED Elvis physically- actually SOUND like him. Lightening struck twice there with the looks and that distinctive sound. I love to HEAR to a super good Elvis impersonator- but it bothers me when they look so bad that they mar Elvis's memory. Even at the end and at his WORST- Elvis never looked THAT bad! Yeah...He made some dubious fashion choices  ...but even at his biggest- he wasn't gross like most of the impersonators are these days. Way back in my 20's when my 12 year old nephew(who went on to be gay) was watching an impersonator - he asked me "why it was Ok for Elvis to be "homosexual" but not other men"( he was catching flack about being feminine from his friends and Dad- so I guess that was something he was told by them) My mouth dropped open and I asked him-" Honey what made you think Elvis was homosexual?" He said the outfit was "gay". Well..what am I supposed to say..it really WAS! That cape thingee was the icing on the cake. But again- that's not what I remember when i think "ELVIS" I think "Love me tender" Ohh lala young elvis with that beautiful voice! Yeah...in a perfect world there would be a young good looking Elvis impersonator who could actually SING like him too. But I doubt I'll ever actually see that

Anyone ever see the Elvis impersonator on last year's "America's got talent" he looked REALLY good,,,but was only "OK" as a singer. Again- don't think he was doing Elvis justice. Just goes to show WHY he was the "King" ..it's hard to equal the same package. Karen I agree with you- Adam Lambert ( when he's doing the clean cut look)- DOES resemble young Elvis..sure doesn't sound like him though....but OMG...WHAT A VOICE! I'm still bitter that he didn;t win Idol this year. What was America thinking???

Here is our elvis guy. He does benefits and old folks homes for the pure pleasure of joy it brings them. We had him come up to Greeley for 30min before our shown then stayed and was in the regular rotation singing other artists

This is funny. I went to my personally favorite karaoke hangout and in walked this guy.. he had the big hair, sideburnes, pressed white shirt, and jeans.

Hmmm... Elvis impersonator?

Yep. :D :D

Anywho, he got up and did American Trilogy... it wasn't the best, but it was enjoyable.

But he struck an imposing silhouette. This was in a nightclub, and he had the spotlight on him, and stuck that pose with the arm raised, the head down in the mike... and it was cool.

He went up to a few ladies and sang to them till they blushed, which was cute.

And then he did the karate kick thing with the 1/2 punch followup during the bridge... It was a fun performance and he got big kudos from the audience.

Probably one of the better karaoke performances of this I've seen. Mostly, they suck.

So I talked with the owner. Explained my feelings about the jukebox. He told me it wouldn't happen again, but if it does, and he isn't there, to let him know. Elvis is back!
