OK, getting time to reprint books again, and I want to save some $$$$.

The wife and I are arguing over how most people browse a song book. By Artist or by Song Title.

Comments?
Suggestions?
Rude remarks?...LOL

This topic was recently raised, and pretty much everyone agrees artist books are most popular.

My sense of things was that people recommend 75% artist books, 25% title (at most).

I don't know... There are some songs that I know by title and never knew the Artist, and there are some songs that I would never know unless I looked it up by Artists. I would go 50-50 on the books.... or, at least have 2 books by Titles and the rest by Artists.

remember back in the day when everyone didn't have song libraries in the tens of thousands of songs and the song books had all of their songs listed by Artist AND by Title in the same book ???? Boy that was a kinder gentler time, wasn't it? :D

kinda azz backward here in hawaii. most locals know song titles and can't remember artists.

But i still drive myself crazy and have 7 artist books and 1 title anyways. I have a pretty good memory on who sings what. It's about time for a reprint also.

I remember Bruce. i'm thinking of going back and using Spigot instead of musicbooks deluxe to print my books in both artists and titles..(i like their layout better).. although people will complain the font is too small...i really don't like redoing books much...

4 artist,,,2 by song. Good thing too because song books are thicker.

I just reprinted a few weeks ago. I added 4 more books, totally 16 now. All of which have artists and titles in every book, plus the update pages too. Books are in 3" binders. But I only carry 12 or less at a time. The extras are "just in case". Very expensive project by the way.

Hi Twanseene,

I have 60% by artist and 40% by title. I also break my books up by country, pop, and oldies. It took me forever to sort my songs out that way (and they are not perfect). Most of my singers go right to the oldies or country.

BTW were in central Iowa? My Mom lives in Waverly and I visit her every year. I went to school and was a gymnast in high school and college there.
