Uhh, NO, not "those" kind of shows. I mean karaoke:)
Seems I recall someone from here being in Vegas. (?)
Any-who, I'll be there for 5 days the first week of December, and other than 2 nights of required business dinners.. .. I'll be free to do as I please. I'm not a gambler, it doesn't interest me at all, so I thought I'd check out the local karaoke a night or two in my free time.
Anyone who knows of any good places there... lemme know.
(oh, btw, yeah..... I'm fLyInG..... who'd a thunk it? can't chicken out now, tickets paid for, Lmao... but it will actually be flight #2 for me, i'm pretty proud of myself)

Several of the Casinos have it....
Ellis Island (off the main Strip, behind Bally's),
Barbary Coast (across the street from Bally's),
Inside Harrah's (a Piano Bar up front) there's a 2 hour show at 6 PM
I forgot the name, but he also does The Straptosphere.
You can do a search for Las Vegas Karaoke, and get some of the local listings that are near the strip. Also ask at the front desk of your Hotel. Someone there is bound to know.

I know it's not karaoke, but if you like Rodeo, that's about the same time frame as the NFR. Check on tickets early though cause it's a hard ticket to get later on.

Many good shows in Vegas.. Check the yellow pages for karaoke shops, (retail) and they have flyers there.. The best shop is out on west Charlston..
And yes, the casinos are good..

Check the yellow pages and/or ask at the hotel front desk? Hmmm... what an idea, why didn't I think of that?
I was more or less wanting to hear if anyone had any personal experience at any shows there, like "Hey, check this one out it's awesome".. or.. "Don't go to this one, the place sux".....
But I'll write down the names of the ones you guys mentioned.
Karen, it IS the week of the Rodeo, I just googled that up. That's an idea too, I do love Rodeo's. (where else to find so many cowboys in one place? Lol)
Lord knows what all I'll do to spend my free time. We have a couple Indian Casinos here, and I've been to them... and I just don't get into the gambling. It bores me. I'm sure I'll check some out, just to say I did. But seriously, I'd rather hand $100 to a bum on a street corner, who could use it, than watch it slip away $1 at a time into some damm machine.
Karaoke is a must though. Thanks guys for responding.

When I was there the one's I went to was the Imperial Palace (it was in front but now by the Sports betting) and Ellis Island. I prefer the Ellis Island but that is off the strip. There was one at Fitzgeralds but not sure if it's there anymore. The Stratosphere has some big fillers along with dancing time. And even though it's Sin city, no vulgarity.

Thanks... I'll check out those places. (and now I know to stay away from The Stratosphere, Lol)

Just ask the concierge at the Hotel, he or she should be current on those kinds of things.

Maybe you this page might help, scroll down towards the bottom......I really enjoyed the Flamingo with a guy named Terryoke.....when I thought the guy at the Imperial Palace sucked.....Boulder Station was ok, but they let people sing more than one song at a time....that was stupid....people sang as many as 3 songs, then left....look for Lostinvegas, or lostnvegas in our membership....she is a sweetie, and has a webpage listed in her profile....never been to her show, but I will defininely check it out, the next time I'm there

I don't know... When I went to The Stratosphere, there weren't any dance breaks. It's the same guy who does the Piano Bar that I mentioned at Harrah's for a 2 hour show... the 1st hour being just him and his troop doing impersonation acts of Tina, Gladys, Tome Jones, Elvis, Richard Simmons (yes, you read that right), and a few others.... That show at Harrah's is worth going to (6 PM to 8 PM... and, if the Twin Sisters are still there doing their Dueling Piano act, stay from 8 - 9 for their show.
The show at Imperial Palace is at a Bar called Tequilla Joe's (just before the Front Entrance of IP), and I thought that was one of the worst shows I ever went to. There was no order to the KJs rotation, and he took bribes to put people up ahead.
Ellis Island is a regular place in the Bar area of the casino, and the Sound System is great. The KJ runs a fair rotation too. It may be off the Main Strip, but it's directly behind Bally's. It's just 1 block off the strip (albeit, 1 VERY LONG Block).
I don't remember now if it's at Mandalay Bay or The Luxor, but whichever one has The House of Blues, has Live Band Karaoke there once a week.
Another Casino (that I can't remember the name now) was 1 mile off of the Main Strip (behind Excalibur).
Another one that I can't remember the name, it was on the main street that intersects with Las Vegas Blvd (down by The Stratosphere)... Turn Left and walk 1 or 2 blocks. The bar there had Karaoke. I think there was/is a Steak House next door to this bar.

Ellis Island is good, but often crowded..

Cool... I read up online about some of those places. I'm staying at Treasure Island, which is supposed to be close in to everything, and I'm sure I'll check out more than one place.
Ellis Island is the only one I saw that advertises karaoke every night of the week, and I will be going on weeknights. (maybe they'll have smaller crowds?... hope so)
Thanks for your tips. (cool pic Matt... i'm sure i'll come home with my camera cards and laptop full of pics too, Lol)

Those must've been different times when you and I was there. Tequila Joe's is now called the Rock House and the karaoke has moved inside IP by the sports betting area.
And when I went to the Stratosphere was also the same time I went to the former Gilley's at the non existing Stardust club, the KJ was an Austin Powers impersonator. I did a hard rock song in a country club hosted by faux Mike Myers. If I wasn't that badly under the influence I would've felt really out of place.
