Hi All,

For starters, I am very technically unsavy, so I am hopeing somebody can assist me.

Hubby and I got a mixer/amp, speakers, mics and CDG player for home use. I want to try a song that I cannot find anywhere except on the web (the Japanese version of Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto). There is a website where you can play the Karaoke version of Sukiyaki (aka Ue O Muite) in Japanese (with romanized lyrics). I would like to be able to sing along to this with my mic and amplifier.

How do we hook that up? Do we just connect the line on the mixer/amp to the headphone jack on the laptop?

Thank you in advance.

Paula

Hi. All you have to do is plug the headphone jack on your laptop into the mixer. You can buy the correct wire in any electrical suppliers ie radio Shack etc.

Most mixers have a stereo input in the form of either RCA (the red and white plugs that are common on tvs, dvd players, and home stereos). As wiggley stated you can find the right cord at radio shack or guitar center. The cord will be the small 1/8 inch headphone jack on one end and the red and white stereo rca plugs on the other.

Your mixer may not have the rca type inputs but rather 1/4" stereo input which is the large headphone type plug. You can get that cord (1/8" to 1/4" stereo) at the same places. More likely at Guitar Center as they are more of a pro-audio store.
