OMG my deepest condolences...

I was just joking with him the other day - Plus I just made him a Moderator after all these years!

Wow! This certainly is unexpected - I send his family & friends all my blessings.

My friend you will be missed!

Rip knightshow. I also learned alot from reading his posts in here. He seemed really genuine to me though i never spoke with him personally.

Spoke with Ruthie before I saw her post here...here is a message regarding our discussion...

I was in contact with Matt's wife Ruthie, and I gave her links to all of the forum threads I started about Matt. She wanted me to let everyone know that " I've read all their posts and thank them all very much for their thoughts.".

Some folks have asked if there is a way to contribute, or offer cards, or flowers etc... If you would like to contribute cash, I do know the address for Ruthies PayPal account, and or I can give you their address if you would like to send a card. Ruthie did not anyone to feel like she was soliciting donations or condolences, but there ARE lots of people asking.

If you would like the PayPal account info or the address to send a card, just hit me up at harryharryoke @ hotmail.com and I will send it to you.

A final message from Ruthie: "One other thing I just thought of - if people wanted to say something, I'd be happy to read or display their thoughts at the service. He touched many many lives, a lot of people he never even met, and treated them just like he'd treat ya if he saw you on the street. So, I realize there's a lot of people saddened besides his family, so if anyone would like to offer some words, I'll put them all together and read them at the service.

Other than that, just keep us all in your thoughts and prayers - as all of you are included in mine as well.

I expressed by shock and sadness on Facebook, but since this is where I first met Matt, I wanted to post the same here. Matt was a honest and geniune guy, and with rare exception, he could always make me smile. He was helpful and kind when I joined this group several years ago ... and we had just begun to reestablish our friendship on facebook. I will miss him. My thoughts to you, Ruthie ... and to all his family. May your memories provide you comfort now, and in the future. RIP Matt.

As with many in here, Matt was one of the first to warmly greet me when I first joined the forum. I can't believe he's gone. What a loss. Best wishes to his family.

Matt was one of those I wanted to meet, sing with, and party with. He was one of those here that kept this forum stable and on an even keel. I will desparately miss him. I'm in shock. We have lost a friend!!!

I'm not assimilating this news at all ... never met him, had a few run-ins with him on here, especially when I first joined, but I feel like he's been my on-line friend for two years. I am deeply feeling this loss, and am in total denial still.

When I joined last week Matt was one of the people that welcomed me. I hadn't yet told him that I knew him from an earlier time, thinking no rush I'll get to it.
I always enjoyed reading his posts, whether or not I agreed with everything he wrote, it was always interesting to read his posts/views. RIP Matt

I keep thinking (hoping) that he will come on and let us know it was all a bad joke. I'm having a hard time with it as well, because I can't reconcile the thought that one night he was posting and replying to messages and only a few hours later he was gone.

Another member that has been MIA for quite a while, called me this am, and asked if I would post for him, as he has no interwebtubes these days..

Yet another member called him to let him know Matt had passed...

Matt was always very helpful and supportive. I always wished I could have to chance to meet him. Rest in Peace, Matt. I will see you one day.

I actually had the chance to meet him (several times). He was an awesome guy even if he didn't agree with me personally, who cared, he was the most down to Earth guy that had ever met (to date) from the forums.

I've been away from the internet all weekend working a 3 night festival and this is the first thing I read. I am deeply hurt by this news. Now Matt and I had never met but had talked in cyberspace a bit and he helped me out several times. What a good guy! RIP Matt...Your whole family and all your friends are in my prayers!!!
