drat! My meds kicked in....no more snarky remarks tonight. Jeez PC, what's this all about. Vicky and I get along pretty good, and we are as about as different in philosophy and politics and other stuff as two people can be...but I really like her. She's a bit of fresh air in my opinion.

. . . and that's why I took a few days off from the forum. I have a large vocabulary, and can be far more hateful when someone gets under my skin.
I'd rather moderate myself than go off on someone and be moderated.

WOW!
Holy Cow! That was something!
That is how I felt this mornin' when I received a few emails about a post in SS!
What the heck happened there? Don't worry that is hopefully handled?!?
As far as the "Ignore" button. There currently isn't one available under this system and it would be rather complex to include one in here and/or SS because of the coding.
I am looking into updating this forum from PHPBB Version 2 to Version 3. I believe there maybe an ignore button - haven't checked yet. However many of the "Fun" features would be gone... Plus it would require some major re-writing of SS.
You can see a sample of Version 3 by visiting another site that I run:
http://fugitiverecovery.com/forum
(When visiting and reading - Don't be surprised - but there is "D R A M A" there as well! )
Additionally, the ignore button only would allow the member to block the other member from view - everyone else would still see the posts/comments. Not sure how that would help anything??

Phil thry have the friends foe list
What are my Friends and Foes lists?
You can use these lists to organise other members of the board. Members added to your friends list will be listed within your User Control Panel for quick access to see their online status and to send them private messages. Subject to template support, posts from these users may also be highlighted. If you add a user to your foes list, any posts they make will be hidden by default.

How can I add / remove users to my Friends or Foes list?
You can add users to your list in two ways. Within each user’s profile, there is a link to add them to either your Friend or Foe list. Alternatively, from your User Control Panel, you can directly add users by entering their member name. You may also remove users from your list using the same page.

A long time ago, in a forum far, far away.....................
Along with some others around here, I'm a refugee from the JOLT forum, which used to exist at karaoke.com. During my (over ten-years) time there, I announced a new forum option, the Automatic Scroll Option, or ASO, for short. This option. which is enabled by simply (out-loud, aimed directly at the post on the screen) proclaiming a poster to be an ASO!, will automatically scroll past all that poster's subsequent posts. It may work here. It's worth a try. The latin ASO feature is now availble, the [/i]AS'Ole!
This post is satirical, and not directed at any current poster on this forum. Any opinions garnered from this post, unless otherwise indicated, are mine and mine alone.
I know where my towel is, and thanks for all the fish.

I too am an old JOLTer (over 10 years there). I remember that ASO option that Dean had set up. It didn't work very well. You would see a string of posts in a topic thread (such as this), and if you ASO'd a particular person, if they posted, you'd see their name, in the thread (where they posted), but it would indicate that you blocked/ignored that post, so it didn't show anything he/she/they wrote. The drawback to that was, it took the continuity out of reading a topic thread, and if anyone quoted from part of the ignored person, it WOULD appear in that person's post.

Actually, Cuey, you're confusing an ignore function that Deane tried with a joke post I made, (explained above) around the same time. It has been a while, hasn't it?

You're right, Smitty. I remember your joke about it, and then Dean did come up with some ignore function.... I don't remember what it was called, but it wasn't "Ignore" (but it did filter out your seeing an unwanted poster).

Wow. rarely come to this off-topic forum and this thread is 3 pages deep already!
I admit I HAVE BEEN FLAMING the alledged troll here and haven't YET given up on it, like moon did for a couple of days, or have a quasi-meltdown like Cornell had.
If Angel910 starts to post like a normal human being then i will stop harassing the harasser....and stop getting on everyone else's nerves as well. Apologies all around.
I DO usually post after a show so i'm guilty of letting some steam off on the deserving. I find it humorous and necessary to pick on bullies. (i'm an old mma fighter)
And i do have much info and insight into this industry, as i've been a part of it for a long time, but Karen K. ALWAYS says what i'm thinking!!!!- albeit MUCH more eloquently. -JohnReynolds AKA jreynolds from hawaii.
