The guy that was helping me finished 3 of my shows. He did the last hour so I could go home at midnight and sleep until 4 to go to work. He got another job and is unavailable. When I mentioned to the owner that I was looking for someone else, he made it clear he doesn't like the idea. He says the karaoke patrons are used to my face.

I'm very dependable otherwise. Always had great attendance at work. Heck, look at my name here, I'm a big Cal Ripken fan!

I only missed a show once and that was because an hour before going to the show I dislocated my shoulder. The bar called a dj to fill in and he took over that night.

Out of the blue a guy who used to host the show I frequented last year asked if I needed help and offered to pay me $100 per gig to use my equipment. Without a doubt, he knows audio equipment. He is very personable and is well liked. He is very confident that he could get weekend gigs and start bringing in some extra cash.

What are the possible pitfalls?

Steal my music.
Abuse my equipment.
Steal my gig?
Give my business a bad rep?

Advantages

$$$
Business a good rep
Give me tips on audio
$$$

How should I handle this if I decide to go with him?
