Hey all,

Ok, I posted here yesterday asking about how I could burn and cram a bunch of my cd+g cd's onto a DVD. Well, I found out that my cd drive can write and rip CD+G cd's with no problem; and I am able to rip in CDG or BIN or whatever format i need -- which is good...

One method I read about was to convert the cd+g (bin) file into an mpeg or avi and then burn that to a DVD. Much to my surprise, the average song in .mpeg format is 300 megs. Which would only allow about 17 on a DVD+R, which is pointless because i might as well just use my original CD+G -- i am not gaining any storage capacity.

I am surprised that no one has come up with a way to just toss a bunch of ripped cd+g images and burn them to a DVD.

If i took a bunch of burned BIN files and filled a DVD with them, I would think that the DVD player (which is CD+G compatible) would simply play them as usual, but i have heard that the way the DVD player reads the discs, it will not read them correctly.... Or will it....

I wonder what would happen if I made complete image files of several cd+G cd's then turned around and burned those multiple images onto 1 DVD…..

What have some people tried that did and/or didn’t work?

Hopefully we can come up with some way of being able to store a bunch of CD+G files/discs on a DVD -- which would be real convenient. Please let me know if you guys have any experiment...

P.S., yes the original cd+g's are owned by me, and noone else will use this media

I appreciate your help....

Thanks,

M

Gee.. it's a nice thought but the file conversion rate is astounding.. and the media has yet to be written..

Let me know when some einstien figures out that one.. then I'll look at it for the future.. and take action accordingly.. :P
