Well the '60s explains things. Today if an LEO shot a warining shot in the air he or she would be charged for careless discharge of their firearm. Things have changed in procedure in the past 40+ years. I've just finished watching some old "Adam-12" shows. Though this show was done well. many if not most of the procedure they did have vastly changed.

UH keep your $200.00 just give me the keys to your vehicle with the $7000.00 worth of equipment in it.

Don't tell me it doesn't happen people get carjacked every day just for the car.
Call the cops sure I can have your car stripped and shipped out in 24 hours and the equipment heck lots of people want to buy karaoke CD's (no serial #'s) and the equipment easy to get rid of also.

Now what would you do? Just hand over the keys?
Your insurance won't pay for anything other than the car (if you have that type of policy) and I haven't seen yet where an insurance company will pay for things that you have in the car unless they are permanently installed.

Loosing your car $10,000+
Loosing your Equipment and lively hood cost is unimaginable
Owning a firearm to protect yourself Priceless.

LOL Tim it was a period in my life that I wasnt quite in the right frame of mind. I had that incident tucked away in a far corner with a bit of humor. For some reason your post sort of gave me a "flashback" and stunned me for awhile that is why the tirade. After that I was back to normal or as normal as I can get LOL

I imagine things has changed but I havnt kept up with them. My relationship law enforcement now is open. They realize I can detect role playing and dont take crap but when the chips are down They have support as I can give it, It is the same way with fire departments as I had training in that also my nephews are volunteer firemen in one of the countries best voluteer fire departments. They provide full service for a large portion of Northern Colorado and have a national rep. WFD

No problem Ollie. I'm just concerned with the false sense of security people may have by being armed. And no my vehicle and equipment are not worth my life. I can work back to getting a new vehicle, equipment, etc. There's only a couple of people I know of who have came back from death.

Having a firearm does not make you invincible. You have to have the drop on your opponent. You have to aim and fire and hit your opponent while adrenilin is coursing through your veins. Unless you hit something vital, your opponent is still dangerous. I am not trying to scare anyone but rather put a little reality in the situation.

Other than unique events we have never packed out of an empty venue. When we do it is 2 or 3 people and one is alwyas outside with the van.Experience will enable people to detect strange vehicles or something different in the parking lot. Bar tenders are trained to lock up after---> checking all rooms and closets for laggers and make sure the place is empty. The z tape is already ran and the drawer or bank bag is hidden.

They park next to the front entrance and in view of a window. At times during stocking they lookout and look at the parking lot. Before leaving they scan again for trouble. My next instruction is call the cops if necessary. One of our tricks if you need help right now is trip the fire alarm They are rhere in minutes with sirens and lights flashing. I could have swore that coloer smelled funny and something was burning...They smile and present a front until the cops get there. These are just a few tricks but lifesavers.

I worked in a Tejano night club for a year and a half. actually I was safer there than a lot of other places but still its the idea or atmosphere. The ones giving late night trouble are the gang bangers. Local law enforcement know there routes and can anticipate trouble sometimes. That is the touble with them concentrating on drunk drivers. Some need to patrol for other things.

People get the same sense of security with a 4 wheel drive. They dont realize they cant stop on ice or black ice.

Ollie, you got that right. If I had a dollar for every 4x4 in the ditch during a storm, not to mention investigating them, I'd be retired. And what did every driver say? "It's a four wheel drive. How could it lose traction?".
