I know this thread has been done before several times in the past, but of course it's always changing with new products etc..I have some new equipment that I'm looking to put in a rack possibly the "odyssey FZ1116WDLX" and just wanted to explore all options. I don't care about weight or price, just want to have everything in one unit with a minimum of setup time. If anyone wants to share pictures of what they have, descriptions or advice, I'd like to hear/see it.
Thanks in advance,HS
P.S. Interested in the componets also...

OK well I'm always up for some gear porn so here we go. The first pic is my old rack (now living in the studio). It's a 10x12 space slant top combo rack. When I used it for Karaoke it had wheels mounted on the bottom. For quick setup, the slant top cases like the Odyssey case you're looking at are the only way to go in my opinion. Get a few patch snakes for all your connections from the mixer to the various processors and get patch cables to go between rack units. Then you can leave most everything plugged in all the time (all of it if your mixer has rear inputs). So anyway here's the list of what is in that rack from top to bottom:
Mackie CFX-12 Mixing Console
DigiTech Studio Quad (This wasn't in there for Karaoke, just added it for the studio)
Roland SDE-1000 Digital Delay
DBX 166 Gate/Compressor (For my vocals and guitar)
Behringer MDX-4400 Four Channel Compressor/Limiter (for the 4 karaoke mics)
Behring Composer MDX-2100 Stereo Expander/Compressor/Limiter (used for ducking)
Boss (Roland) SX-700 Multi-Effects Processor
T.C. Electronic M-One Multi-Effects Processor
DOD 831Q 31-Band Equalizer (Mono - for the monitors)
* When I used it for Karaoke the AB-1100 amplifier went below the EQ
The second photo is my wireless rack. I still use this for Karaoke, and always kept it seperate because I use it for more than just karaoke. Having it in it's own rack provides flexiblity. I have a 8-Channel XLR snake in the back to connect to the mixer. On top are a pair of Shure SLX series wireless receivers, one for my Microphone and the other for the wireless instrument pack for my guitar. The two units below those are the Shure PG288 dual receivers, for the Karaoke mics. Then a Furman Rack Rider "Power Conditioner".
The final pic is what I've replaced everything in the first rack with. That's my new baby, the Yamaha 01V with built in compression on all input and output channels, 4 band parametric EQ on all input and output channels and two built in multi-effects processors. Everything I need in one simple unit.
Hope that is helpful or at least fun to look at.

It seems I am always late to threads. Here are some pictures of my rack and set up. The setup picture was from a wedding gig that was both DJ and Karaoke.
