Anyone know where I can buy a hard road case for a 13" to 19" LCD TV with stand (just the regular base it comes with) for a REASONABLE price?
My 19" was broken last week because it's been kept in a soft gig bag meant for lights, sound boards, control units and the like. Someone threw something on top of it, I think. At the cost of replacing it, I couldn't afford to buy the 19" again as it was a clearance steal from Wally World and I only paid around $75.00. I had to settle for a 13". But even so, I don't relish having to replace it every few months.

Go to Goodwill and find a used briefcase or small suitcase and stuff it with foam. I found many usable suitcases over the years.

I have carry cases for my monitors, NOT hardshell, but they are very well padded, and made to fit. I got them from CASE ACE, it's on the net. It basically whaps around the monitor, and has a handle at the top to carry. Comes in small, medium, and large. Hope this helps.

Hey diafel,

Check out this place also-

http://stores.shop.ebay.com/AVFORSALE__W0QQ_armrsZ1

This place sells more used cases than anybody.

Diafel, for cheap, cheap, cheap you can't beat the original box the the thing comes in. :D

I simply cut the bottom from the box, and cut out a slot on the back to allow for the stand. I marked the Styrofoam LF RF and covered the box with duct tape (the go to tool for everything). Now you just fit on the Styrofoam and slide the box on from the top. I've been using the thing for a year now... it holds up well. you might also wrap the tv in a large plastic garbage bag to protect it from moisture.

So, when you get your new TV don't throw the box away... modify it! :D

All great ideas and awesome links! Thanks guys!
I think what I may do is use the original box idea for now, until I can get a road case. As for hard suitcases, the idea around here is an old one and they are snapped up faster than you can say "road case"! LOL.
I've been haunting the thrift shops for months to no avail and using the Yorkville soft case in the meantime, so the eBay link is probably how I'm going to go.
BTW can anyone tell me what order the dimensions listed are in? For example: L X W X H. I'm finding it a little confusing as to how to figure out how my screen will fit into one of these and whether I have enough room to modify the foam inserts, if need be. I may also need to remove the base and just place it on every night. It's held on by a single screw through the center of the bottom, but I know it will hold by friction as well. It's just a molded oval piece of plastic that the bottom of the stand arm fits into.
Thanks again!
