Hey Rip. Good lookin' out. I LIKE the fact that I work at 5 different bars for several reasons:
1) Spreads my name out over a larger area
2) Cross "pollination" from different venues. People follow me around to my different shows, which helps all the bars out that I work at.
3) If I loose one show, I'm not out of business.
4) Different bars sing different songs, and require different sorts of attention. This makes my library more varied, and me a better KJ.
Hope this helps for future reference Rip! Good Luck.

Hello All,
certainly not putting all your eggs in one basket is a good motto.
I would recommend trying to obtain a 2nd set up ... start out small and take a portion of your weekly gigs and set them aside for that purchase ... set a goal to do so and you'll achieve it.
While the 2nd system doesn't have to be as good as your 1st one ... it should get there soon. Remember, YOU are not the KJ doing the 2nd gig but YOUR COMPANY IS .. so it has to be to notch too. If not the bar is going to come to you and complain.
Spread out ... get some more systems and book MORE shows then you can do ... you'll see your profits start to soar!
Jason

KK, all points I had considered but appreciate the info.
To you and Jason. I can only take on so much during the week at this time given my day job. Certainly not ready to take on more than I can handle. I don't want to be known as being one that is not dependable.
