How many songs can you actually sing? Only those that you have already done, counts; those that you think you can sing but have not try them out should not be included.
1. less than 100 songs
2. more than 100 but less than 250
3. more than 250 but less than 500
4. more than 500 songs
5.Are there anyone here who can claim that he/she can sing more than 1000 songs?
I though I can sing a lot of songs, but was disappointed to find that they add up to just below 100 songs.
ps I know this question has already been asked, but this topic need an update.

I used to have around a 300 song repertoire before my singing voice died. Now I struggle trying to sing anything.

I'm guessing I must have sang over 1000 songs in my life in various bands & now with karaoke. Maybe? I dunno, never counted them. I'd certainly never be able to remember that many tho!
Lonnie, what happened to your voice?

Well, I carry around 10 discs (personal compilation burns) of songs that I sing, and that totals a little over 100 songs right there. Plus, I will ocassionaly sing songs from other KJs books (as vs singing from my personal discs). So, I would fall into # 2 --- 100-250 songs that I sing.

Got laringytis about a year back & it has never recovered. I can sing lower songs fine but if I hit anything over a certain point in the mid to upper range I crack and have no control anymore. Can't stand it.

Sorry to hear that mate, I'd be devastated if that happened to me (maybe I'd be the only one tho). Is there nothing that can be done for it? Sorry, I'm going a bit off topic here, but that's really made me think!

No you are not off topic here; asking why, and how in relation to the topic is encourage.
@Lonnie; Try replacing those high songs that you find hard to sing with more country songs

I believe I am well over 500 songs.
Oh wait, did you mean sing well, or just sing?

I actually might fall in the 1000 song catagory, I have over 200 songs that I know off by heart for cabaret, and I never sing any of those at karaoke.
On quiet nights I ask customers to pick a number between 1 - 600 (disc) and then a track. And I'll sing whatever is found.
I run through every new disc I buy and check the tracks, usually by singing along,
I have a really short attention span, I tend to sing a song twice at karaoke and then move on to my next fix. I always looking for an artist that I'm yet to discover.
I continually use the key change button, without it, i would have about 100 songs.

I am #3. I have several lists (on MTU Hoster) that I number. (I wrote a Perl program to sort and enumerate the playlists by title, artist, key change, or disk type). My "every" list has 319 songs on it. That counts every song I have ever really tried more than once in practice. Probably 50 of those I wouldn't even consider trying "out". I have a comprehensive list with about 260 songs, most of which I have sang "out" at least once, some many times. I have a list I call "best", the songs I usually perform out. That has 82 songs. I am very confident on every one of those, and they at least somewhat fit my voice, i.e. probably aren't a song for a tenor. I further subdivided that list into groups of 20 -- A,B,C,D, which I burned on disks. The things you do when you are obsessed with karaoke.... Quote: 4. more than 500 songs 5.Are there anyone here who can claim that he/she can sing more than 1000 songs?
If I hadn't cut my rate of learning new songs, I would be there. But I haven't recently heard any songs I thought I would enjoy singing. I mostly try to stick with songs for baritones, and those that I can get behind are pretty rare.

Probably #3, when I think about all the things I've done over the years in church, at school, in the band, and at karaoke. It's interesting to think about it; I never really have. I just knew I sang a lot
Lonnie, that's so unfortunate. Once, I got laryngitis also. It was so weird how it affected me. I could sing low. I could sing high. I lost some notes in my midrange that I couldn't get to come out for anything. I even went to an ENT specialist and they ran a camera down my throat to check for polyps. Didn't find anything. It got better after a few months. Have you seen a doctor about it to see if you have anything serious?

I started a list many years ago, but stopped adding information to it back in 2006. At that point the list was in excess of 400 songs.
I would guess that today the number of songs I have done well exceeds 500. Most of the songs on the list I have only done once and have no desire to sing again. Some, a very few, I wouldn't attempt again. Some, I found, I really didn't know very well and they would require practice if I were to attempt them again! Most of them I have just forgotten about and never sang again!

I'm sure I'm less than a hundred - doesn't really matter to me how many I do as much as how well I do them. I mean you aren't going to bore too many people if you know even say 50 songs. You can mix them up quite a bit -- especially if you are in KJ mode and tend not to sing very often during the night. I'm content to try to learn a few show stoppers and work on really nailing them.

Having "sung along" with singers for 14 years, and having shared in front duties in bands, and having sung and danced in amateur theater, I'd say I'm over 500 but will consider sitting down with my book and my memory and making a list.

My biggest problem is that I am a very slow learner when trying to learn 'new' songs. I have friends that can sing a song after just a few listen.

When hosts were in the habit of buying new cd's every month I would sing #1-15 male or female. This was in a bar with 7 nights/week karaoke. My first song in public was Cool Water by the Sons Of The Pioneers in 1948 in a 2 room school house in Colorado and I have sang all over the world to jukeboxes before karaoke was invented. 1000? Probably

In my lifetime, I would have to say that I could sing over 500 songs WELL. However, as time goes by, the voice changes, and changes. I will NEVER be able to sing some of my favorite songs anymore. No more Bee Gees, (maybe) "Words" on a GOOD night. NOTHING in the high range. Currently, I am limited to about 5 or 6 songs a night, before the hoarsness sets in. That's when I go to the Neil Diamond, Big Bopper, Kim Carnes type of songs. I develop the (what I call) Wolfman Jack voice. I can still probably sing at least 100 songs WELL. My problem is lungs, if you don't have them, you can't sing very well. All medication for lungs affects the vocals. I've just learned how to adapt, and KEEP ON SINGING. My pulmonologist LOVES the fact that I have my own karaoke show, and encourages me to continue, as SINGING is one of the best exercises for lung power.

I have a text file on my hosting computer with all the songs (and key changes) I sing at Karaoke and add to it as I go and discover new songs. Right now I'm in category 2 with about 200 songs I know I can sing.
Such a list is very helpful btw. I can recommend doing that.

For songs I have sung, I'm guessing I'm
2. more than 100 but less than 250
but I'm nearing #3 if I haven't touched it yet.

I've sung easily over 2,000 songs, some good, some atrociously.
