Is there a way to have a random video playing and superimpose the lyrics from a CD+G file on top of it?

I know there is software that will let you mix a video this way, but I want to be able to mix the video on-the-fly rather than making premade videos.

In theory....

The CDG command set includes a command to designate a particular color as transparent. If your CDG interpreter software supports this feature all you have to do is change that one command and then play a video behind the CDG window (if you're using Windows anyway).

However, once you get it to work your crowd will hate it because it makes the lyrics harder to read and they are drunk after all which makes the lyrics hard to read in the first place.

You can get the same result (almost) if you convert the mp3+g file to video file (ie .avi ) and mix it with your other vid files for the background.

That's the problem with CDG. Most of the time you're stuck with the premade. I haven't have the change to try the transparency to see how well it work with the text.

Anyway, I've written a software that will take a mp3 files along with the lyric file and it'll superimpose the word over the video on the fly. You can even use live video.

I'll look supporting CDG in the future if there's enough interest in it.

You can download at http://www.walasoft.com/walaoke

Like karaoke? I just finished writing my first karaoke software. It supports .mp3 + .lrc and .kar file with video background. You can use your own video as the background also.
