Bring back the 'sock hop' and the 60's rock-'n'-roll.

, you guys would love the venue I work on Thursdays. One More Round, home of the 80's. Big screens always showing 80's videos. Not always the same song you are listening to.
By the way, Foreigner hit it big first in the 70's but continued into the 80's.

I personally liked Foreigner's 70's stuff far better than the 80's stuff they did.

I'd have to agree, I can sing every word of their first album.

Has anyone heard Mariah Carey's version of "I Want To Know What Love Is"? I'm putting off listening to it intentionally...

The 80's ROCKED! It was very versatile, weird, corny, but exciting and fashionable. I was in junior high when it hit big.
Foreigner was also my !st ever floor seat concert i went to back in 1985. 5th row from the front and they were awesome!

Lots of good music from the 80's. I'm still waiting for SC to do Joe Jackson's On Your Radio (or is that a 70's song)? And the Cars, Touch and Go, and Cheap Trick's California Man....

Especially when I have been seeing ALOT of 'new' music (covered for their own style) - originally from the 80's - even the 70's. It's funny when my kids say HEY you have to listen to this 'new' song, then I break out the original! But then come to think of it I did the same thing with my parents growing up & they did the same thing right back to me when the song was originally recorded in the 50's & 60's.

Its going to be scary when the 90s will be called Retro
I overheard someone talking about Gwen Stefani "Apparently she was in a band called No Doubt and they are going out on tour this summer."

My mother did that to me in the sixties when I played a new Bobby Vinton song and she started to sing it. It turns out that it was a cover of a song recorded in the 1940's.
And I so did that to my daughter in the early 90's when Tiffany did "I Think We're Alone Now" and I pulled out Tommy James and the Shondell's.
So it appears every generation has an opportunity to musically mess with their children.
The 80's for me were somewhat nonexistent as I spent 82 through 88 overseas. While I heard the music, I wasn't paying attention as I was trying to hold on to my mid-seventies Folk-Rock heroes. At the time I played guitar to accompany my singing.

I'll take 70's music any day over 80's. Even some of the bands that were considered "new wave" in the 80's were better in the 70's (Blondie, The Cars, The Pretenders, etc.).
