Karaoke Forums

Well said, leopard lizard.
I agree that it's not right that threads were moved, effectively cutting off many posters who had much of value to add to the discussion. I, for one, rarely "hit" that forum. Haven't the time to go bouncing about searching for threads that I would like to follow. I stick here, mainly.
It should be my choice as to which forums I use or not. Trying to "force" me to use another forum by moving threads will only "force" me to not participate in them any longer. But that is my CHOICE, something that many here no longer have, because they don't fit the requirements of that forum.
As for the few deciding what is important to KJs or non-KJ's I really don't think it was right to do. Not without asking first.
EVERY member here is important, even the annoying and troublesome ones.
Management has proven that time and again by allowing certain members to remain, even though they've raised a few hackles more often than not.
Why not treat them so?
Why not ASK them before moving threads and such?

It's always a balance. Do you let "anything go"? Forums have tried that and died.

Do you have a heavy hand and kill posts whenever they stray close to the edge? That kills forums too.

I like the medium ground this forum has set, for the most part. In my case, I didn't protest at the pirate threads, though I detest them because it reminds me of the JOLT forum. What I protested was the discussion and resultant promotion of another organization, i.e. "The KIAA", that was being pushed by one or two posters. That is hijacking the forum, and it is clearly against the forum rules.

It is also different than talking about SoundChoice or Chartbuster, despite what the "KIAA" posters would have you believe. Those brands of karaoke, and any brand of karaoke, is of interest to virtually everyone involved in karaoke.

All the posts in question were 'on the edge' anyway, stirring up controversay & in some cases downright nasty arguements - not good for anybody to see. They weren't killed, they were moved. Still open topics, if you want to go, go. If not, don't. Sorry if some can't gain access now because they aren't a kj.
They could have been deleted entirely like other forums do, we would rather not do that.
