I have no clue - I've never counted them. Is that odd?

Between my two laptops, I could count my songs in compuhost history however one is at the venue. I would guess a couple hundred and I just added a couple Prince songs today.

I'm the type that will only sing songs I really like. Unfortunately, a large percentage of songs that I like, I'm not capable of singing very well. Also, there are quite a few songs that I used to sing well that I can't do anymore. The number of songs that I can do (now) is well under 100. Alot of this may have to do with the fact that when I used to sing regularly, I was doing so at gigs with a relatively small library. Since I rarely sing at my own gigs, the building up of my own library didn't equate to me increasing the number of songs that I could - or would - sing.
Besides, I'm a guitar player. I usually leave the singing to the REAL singers

I sing around 150 different songs, decently, and on a regular basis. This is without any key changes. I could probably double or triple that if I used the key change. I just don't have time to experiment.
What I find odd, is that my vocal range has a lot of "holes" in it.
I can sing low songs like "Ol' Man River", or sing both male parts (high and low) of "Snowblind" by Styx, sing higher songs like "the Flame" by Cheap Trick and nail every note in "Ballroom Blitz" by the Sweet. There are scores of songs in between that I just can't hit the notes.
I need to start learning more about vocal performance.

I've sung about 120 songs, so far. I have a list I use and pick up where I left off each week.

I've sung Fooling Yourself by Styx. It takes a bit of vocal endurance for me, though, and sometimes by the end of the song it doesn't sound all that good...or even worse, it doesn't sound at all! It's really a two person song though because you also need someone that plays good air guitar.

Never thought of a list in that way. We just have a list and choose from it. But your way prevents it from getting old. I like it.

When I was disc based and had a 3000 song library it was easier to count the number I don't sing. Now I would say close to 5000 songs.

from FB entry:
Quote: Adrian J Nyaoi So how many songs have you tried out steven?
Quote: Steve Kaplan Adrian, I just checked the latest count. To date I've accompanied 912 really nice sounding backings with vulgar noises intended to resemble singing .

I actually sing only about 5 songs decently. But I do set a good example of "you don't have to be a good singer to do this!"
Pat & Valerie (on the otherhand are fantastic & entertaining

Jian-
When I stated in the past "I wish I could sing", I wasn't kidding Not one day has gone by since November 2007 that I haven't spent at least one hour agonizing over singing at least one or more songs. It's not uncommon for 3-5 hour days singing, and I am starting to get some strength, almost something I would say resembles a timbre. I can now honestly say on the hierarchy of 1-10, I am up to a fairly proud consistant 3 rank. which is realistically up about .5 from last year... Hey, it's progress, and I'm keeping it real (for me). I really want to SOMEDAY do this, never anticipated it would happen over night (if at all), but there are a few songs I can sing Never applied myself this diligently to anything over almost a two year period.
I have listed over 912 songs that can be confirmed. For ever song posted there are ten that didn't get posted... While I don't consider myself a singer at this point. I believe I'm doing the right thing... Sticking with it, and remaining humble. What I do however is all "point and shoot" style.. Not interesting in editing, just singing into a mixer and posting the results. I'm starting to get used to my voice (took ages), and learning how to listen to myself (an ongoing process); I'm still in the dark but love to keep it real and learn the most from songs that do not work for me

Thanks for thinking of me btw Jian
I never thought there would ever come a day when there is a song that accidently turns out somewhat decent. A song I post and feel it worthy of sharing on facebook. It's been hard work, a lot of work, but I've loved every minute of it.. But the fact is, my goal is somewhat higher than most.. I WANT to be a singer... Not somebody that plays Karaoke... and I have years and years and years to go !! Fortunately several are blunt with me... To them I owe EVERYTHING !
ADDENDUM:
Most of those are video too.. I've taken this quite seriously Yet also try hard to keep a realistic perspective... Some are FABULOUS singers. These are people who serve to inspire me and ideally share tips both regarding the process of singing, but also the psychology involved.
