Years ago on a hot afternoon in downtown Fort Collins Co I heard Roberta Flack sing The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. I Wept. I have sang this song many times but will never get it right. One night I will nail it and set souls free. Is there a song that haunts you?

There are a few songs that come to mind that have that haunting emotional quality to them for me. Angel, Hallelujah, The National Anthem can even bring tears to my eyes, Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast,
I have a lot

There are many songs that spark a memory or two. Some bring back thoughts of a happy moment, others bring an emotional response of sadness. But, actually that's the reason why I actually do this hosting thing, because of the music. It's not the money, (however, that helps too). Music is such a big part of peoples lives. Some people just don't realize it. Each and every person has a "song" in his/her heart. And karaoke is just one way to express those emotions.
One such song for me is, "Kevin Sharp - Nobody Knows". I sing it, but I don't sing it well. However, the feelings I show while singing this song are unmistakable, the regrets of "what-if" come back and show on my face and voice. Another song that I really enjoy singing, because it's my favorite song in the whole world, is - Johnny Rivers - Swayin' to the Music (Slow Dancin'). This is the song that is really how I feel about my girlfriend at the time. When the music plays, and I'm with her, the rest of the world just "stops".
Ok, enough of this 'boo hoo' stuff. How about some good memories?? anyone?

"daddy don't you walk so fast" gets to me, which is frustrating because I can see lyrically how it's meant to tug at the heart strings, but it still gets to me.
The only other two I have are "Fire and Rain", but mainly when it brings back memories of that one scene in "running on empty" and "This little light of mine".

John Lennon's "Imagine" gets me every time, despite its glaring lyrical hypocrisy ("imagine no possessions" sung by a multi-zillionaire, etc)...

I didn't even think most people would know what song I was talking about. My Mom was a big Wayne Newton fan and I grew up with his music.

This is a song karaoke has taken the feelings away for me. Same thing with Cats in the Cradle. Great songs, but when you here them as much as I do they lose their effect.

Anything by Stevie Nicks. She was my late fiance's favorite. Michele could sing just about anything by her. Probably the most haunting of which is "Beauty and the Beast"

Strangely i had it on a kids cd (well it was a tape back then) ?????? Didn't understand it really until I was older. Brought it on a karaoke, and just can't sing it all the way through. . . lucklily the gender references make it impossible to sing live. . .

Wildflower is one of my favorites. The song used to have personal meaning to me in my life growing up, but then the meanings changed and were transferred to someone else who was a friend of mine. She was shunned by a few people who were somewhat delusional in their points of view about her, and spewed a lot of poison her way. She died in my arms one night as we were leaving a Karaoke show. Long story, but her family told me that I had fulfilled her dying wish. Now, when I sing that song, I think of her, and you can hear the feeling that I put into that song.

Cueball, you are a true friend. Too bad somebody has to go through crap from people. I like the song too. The song that does have special meaning for me was tears In Heaven. I sang it at my Grandfather's funeral back when the song was only available on a Singing machine cassette. I still get teary eyed when I hear it.

Wow, too many to list. So many songs out there hit a personal note that it's hard not to take them to heart when you hear them.
(you know.. Gunpowder and Lead, Goodbye Earl, songs like that)

To answer the original question, there are quite a few for me, too...
Arms Wide Open--Creed (haven't been able to sing this since the night Jen found out Jordan was on his way...and it makes me mist up when it comes on radio now)
Tears in Heaven--Eric Clapton (have sung it once since Jordan...and couldn't make it through without losing it)
Cat's in the Cradle--Harry Chapin (makes me miss my oldest boy)
The Dance--Garth Brooks (many assorted memories)
Under the Bridge--Red Hot Chili Peppers (a VERY fun night many moons ago...the girl had a tape with that song on a loop )
One More Minute--"Weird Al" (THE ultimate divorce/breakup song)
And I could go on and on
