Thanks to all of you for all the free yet valuable advice I've gleaned here over the past 6 months or so.
I've had my own system and we have hosted our own parties over the past 7 years but I am now gearing up to do it as a side income. Over the years I have purchased all the Chartbuster Essential collections and the Sound Choice Foundations 1 & 2 as well as a few other discs here and there. The Foundations are mostly duplicates of songs I already had with CB but I got both foundations and a 3 tray RSQ player like new for $400 last month. I couldn't turn that deal down!
Based on what I've learned mostly from here my system consists of:
Mackie SRM450 v2's
Mackie SRM150 monitor.
Allen & Heath ZED FX Mixer
DBX 166XL Compressor
2 - Shure SM-58 wired mics
1- Shure SM-58 wireless
22" LCD singer's monitor
32" LCD audience monitor
I use MTU's Hoster software on a Vista based Toshiba laptop. I must have spent 100 hours ripping CDG's.
Geez! I've made $200 already so only $10,800 to go to break even!
