I've resisted for years but the now the time has come for me to convert to using a computer during my shows. I'm starting to see the wear and tear on my discs. I've been looking online at different programs to use but there are so many. I'd like to hear your suggestions. I don't need something that's too complicated, just something that works well. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm new in this forum so my apologies if this topic has been beaten to death. I looked but didn't see this subject in previous posts.

CompuHost. Best, hands-down.

Hi
My son loves to use Just Karaoke. Its very simple and easy to use and is self contained. He has also used a older version of sax & dottys but this uses Winamp and a couple of plugins. On balance he prefers the Just Karaoke software. Its also quick cheap. It probably does nt have all the bells and whistles of compuhost etc but does the job without any fuss.
I would suggest try as many demo copies as you can see what you fel comfortable with.
Cheers
Paul

The new version has filler so it's not just karaoke anymore. It's a full hoster. Once I get their filler player down I am going back to it because I would no longer need a dongle. I don't record so that function of Compuhost isn't needed by me. JustKAraoke has the multiplex function I had been looking for. The only reason I'll keep Compuhost is to up date my songlist.

Hi
Sorry to hijack the thread but I was wondering how the music filler works? is it a add on or a upgrade to the program - can`t see it on my sons version "just Karaoke 1.01"?
Cheers

If JustKaraoke has improved it's key changer, it would be a good basic setup. (Nowhere near as good as Compuhost, which will pay for itself in promotion value alone in no time flat.)
But the key changer in the version I have is *terrible*. Unusable. My original plan was to use JustKaraoke as my backup software in case I needed to change PCs. But the key changer was so bad I couldn't use it, and I ended up wasting the $25.00 it cost.

I prefer MTU Hoster even over Compuhost. It works very well for my particualr needs, fully self contained (comes with hosting program, ripper to get cdgs to computer, songbook maker). No separate programs for each.

Actually the keychanger blows pacemaker away. I find it equal with Compuhost when it comes to keychange (Compuhost's keychanger is weird anyway. You set the key when you setup the song and it ends up being half that when it plays.)

Hi Folks
I have just downloaded the latest version of Just karaoke and the Ambient music feature is really good. Only had a quick play but it seems very simple and does what it says on the tin.
Cheers

I use Sax and Dotty's, (a frontend for winamp), simple and inexpensive
And I have said it BEFORE and will say it AGAIN....
TRY THEM ALL! and then u decide which you like best.
