I know there was a dance that was COUNTRY, and ALL of the women used to LINE DANCE to it just like they do to the Electric Slide, do you know what it was? First of all, like it's been mentioned a few times Boot Scootin' Boogie by Brooks and Dunn, ALWAYS gets the women out there doing a line dance type thing.
In regards to your question of a country line dance similar to the electric slide, there's a couple of them, "Tush Push" & "Slappin Leather".
Good Luck.

Lots of great songs listed,
but I Definitely have to second
"Runaround Sue -- an old song, but it gets the ladies up and moving every time. Fun! Warning though, the Sound Choice version of this song SUCKS. They blew the intro badly.
I've also had luck in the past with "Get Busy" but it gets hard to do when I visit other shows sometimes if they don't give you enough mic -- it has some VERY long phrases.
I'm leaning towards learning Sean Paul's "Temperature" to see if it still has appeal or not.
The Mobile Beat 200 is your best friend. Lots of great ideas for new songs to learn here.

Lots of people who don't dance will shuffle around in circles with someone they like to a nice ballad if it's done well and it follows a couple of fast songs.

People really don't dance at my shows when someone is singing. They wait until I take a music break.
I play a lot of music at my karaoke shows, it's probally 60 / 40 Karaoke / Music

Liquid, that's another reason why I want to learn, AND sing some of these songs, because we DON'T have any music sets. We are KARAOKE only, so if people want to dance, SOMEONE has to sing a dance song. We get the SAME OLD songs sung, as I mentioned before, so I'd like to add NEW dance songs for the LISTENING, and singing audience. That way there's something for EVERYONE. The combination music/karaoke doesn't go over too big where I live, if you are a karaoke show, people get pi$$ed if you play dj music.

Based on this thread, it might be an idea to make a list of these songs for your patrons; if the show begins to lag, offer the list to singers who may be interested in speeding things up by singing a song off your list. Thanksf or asking this, btw. I will be making a list from this thread just for my own benefit, though I have dancers now. I think my singers would scream and shout and throw things at me if I interrupted "their" karaoke with DJ music. YIPES!

Good idea Karen, think I'll make a list of some of these songs and put them on a sheet titled dance songs, and maybe put it in the front of my songbooks. Sure would be ALOT easier than ME learning ALL of them.

The list is a good idea.
It's something I'd check out and try to pick off of.

WOW, no one mentioned KC sunshine band?!?! What? Maybe I missed it...
Get Down 2nite and Boogie Man. I sing them or have someone sing them when the crowd starts going in "that direction". Usually me. YMCA is also a crowd pleaser.

Ok i'm back and here is my personal favorite type of music that gets my 2nd show dancing and grooving.
Boogie Wonderland- EWF
Let's Groove Tonight- EWF
September- EWF
Get Down On It- Kool & The Gang
Ladies Night- Kool & The Gang
Celebration- Kool & The Gang
Rock Steady- Whispers
Rock The Boat- Hues Corporation
Dancin Machine- The Jacksons
Blame It On The Boogie- The Jacksons
..this stuff can get most people over 35 up out of their seats and dancing all night long if they were into disco and funk. THAT to me was the best music to dance to EVER.
