Hey guys, making the switch over to a laptop from my JB199, thing's just too inconvenient to lug around. Picked up CDGFix 3 Super to correct the problem with the .ncg file extension that CAVS so lovingly decided to encode every song with. Unfortunately I haven't yet deciphered a way to to get CDGFix to label each song with an artist and title. The JB199 has a .txt file with the corresponding numbers to match the titles, I just can't find a program to export that to that actually works. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Having spent enough already, I'm trying to do this on the cheap, so freeware would be a godsend.

Oh, and if Admin could move this to the tech section that'd be good. Seem to have made a bit of a mistake.

Fuzz,

ID3 Tag Your Music! If they are NOT tagged, look here for a FREE tagger:
http://www.karaoke-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=18111

Drag 'N Drop 'em into CDGFix Super, Artist and Title, etc. appears.

CDGFix Super will Spoil You... If you are Too Lazy To Tag 'em... Do This!

BEFORE LOADING ANYTHING: USE YOUR .TXT FILE AS A DATABASE!!!!!

1. Select Open on the Project menu and navigate to and select the .TXT file. It is important that the NCG files are located in the same folder as the .TXT file, or in a sub-folder of the .TXT file folder. CDGFix 3 Super will now read the selected .TXT file and load each referenced NCG file along with title and artist name into the Project window.

Tip: You can change the formatting of titles and/or artist names before the export by selecting Format Title/Artist on the project Tools menu.

2. Exporting the tracks to a selected format
The export process is quite simple. Select Export Tracks on the Project menu to bring up the Export Tracks dialog. Using this dialog select your options for the conversion and click Run. Please refer to the description of this dialog for more details on this process.

Kind Regards,
sw00000p

Sir you just might be my new hero. I've toiled with this damned thing for about 3 weeks now trying to find a way to outsmart CAVS. Thanks a lot for the advice.
