i have only downloaded about 12 songs so far from SBI And Tricerasoft (at MickeyJ's recommendation) and they burn perfectly on an MTU drive i got. I play the downloads on a cdg player i use.

i STILL run a cavs 199 and can't seem to ween myself off the darn thing! I am SOOOO interested in compuhost (or hoster) but have yet to order one. I have bought 3 laptops this past year for my transition to lappy but have YET to make it.

Although it makes perfect sense to want to have a hard copy mailed from the download site, i can't wait weeks for them to arrive, or end up having a bad copy from them (as someone stated) after waiting so long. I'll take my chances and i've got receipts.

On a side-note, i read that one of walmarts' pre? black friday deals will be a laptop for only $248. Just keeping a non karaoke lappy for downloads and keeping your gig lappy off the internet is good sense. Eventually i will download onto one, then put the files on the gig lappy via flash drive.

So you download and burn to a CD?

We've been getting the new PHM pop and country discs but are switching to the CB monthly ones. The cost is minimal and usually something is sung but not always.

Karen, yes i do download and burn to cds . All 4 laptops can burn cds (as most nowadays) but i use the MTU burner specifically, so i won't feel i wasted my money on it, which i probably did.

I ordered the Chartbuster Country Hits of Nov ? for "Cowboy Casanova" and "Need You Now" and "Twang" from Express Karaoke as I had some other discs I needed from them at the same time. Just got an email notice today it has been shipped.

Several weeks ago we had some Clampers come in from a party across the street. They returned all the way from Bodie, CA to bring a friend that lived locally to our show. He proudly arrived with the Chartbuster 100 song sets of Best Country of 2007 and 2008--so we had "Chicken "Fried" and "In Color" done. (We actually had those in our book but didn't mind playing his--anyone who likes karaoke enough to spend that much money is welcome.) That would be as new as it gets for us.

Just bought the Chartbuster 50 hits of Merle Haggard and 50 hits of Waylon & Willie and have had several songs done out of each every night, if that gives you the picture. But also goes to show I do buy what they want along with inflicting my weird songs on them.

My prediction: "Need You Now" will be done ALOT.

We're always looking for the new stuff. If there is a second add-on book, that's the first one I'll grab. It keeps it fresh for us singers. I love to be the first one to sing a newer song at a venue. When people say they love that song and didn't know they had it. I have gotten to the point of just buying my own also though, for recent songs. I don't see new discs being bought alot where we go.

Letitrip, I'm with John, it almost would seem worth the couple hour trip up North for me to check out your show.
