Ok, been searching Google for about 20 minutes and can find what I want.
The crew & I are hosting New Years Eve at one of our regular bars. I want to get a countdown clock that can run on the Extended Desktop (aka singers screen), but I can find one that is LARGE enough. I need something in the range of 640x480 to 800x600. Something that would be resizeable would be GREAT!
Ok, back too Google......

Exactly what I need
It is customizable, re-sizable, and easy to use.
Only took 1hour of Goggling and testing to find it....

too funny, I was intentionally avoiding the downloadable ones to avoid possible spamware/malware issues. Glad you found what you needed, good luck on NYE!!!

Yeah it is working out good....Able to use my own font (terminator), and background color, so it will blend right in with the singer screen background.
Few years back was doing a KJ gig at the local bar, and their bar time is 20 mins early. No one (bartenders & owner) knew when we should have the countdown (bar time or real time). It turned out to big a big mess, .
So I figure with a countdown clock i can get it setup at the beginning of the nite (set to REAL TIME), and then there will be no confusion.

Great idea for those doing NYE shows.

What a great idea! Now I am going to do that too! We do karaoke during New Years Eve
and it's awesome cause we go back and forth with the dance music and always did the
countdown with the big screens with a local channel the does their countdown but would
totally better with a clock on the big screens! Coolness!

I've never been to a bar or restaurant on New Years Eve that DIDN'T have a television on, tuned into the New York City New Years Eve festivities, but I guess a secondary clock couldn't hurt????
I think that every person that frequents a bar on a regular basis realizes that there is a difference between bar time and real time. If it was that big of a deal, you could just re-adjust the bar clock to show the REAL TIME one night out of the year and around 12:30 AM, you could set the bar clock 20 minutes ahead and all will be right with the world.

We don't set our clocks forward like we did in Arizona cause we're 24 hours here in Nevada. But for the few zealous watch lookers who like to jump the gun the clock on the karaoke monitor sounds like it would work for us.

Last year I made up a 25 minute premix that I started at 15 minutes before midnight, timed perfectly so that 14:48 it played the 12 Big Ben bells, then the chimes, then Auld Lang Syne - then a bit of celebration, etc.
I may do the same with a video this year and run it to my display screens.
The issue I have with running a clock all night is that I'd really need to be spot on...

I like how you do the music before the countdown. I always did it on the fly and usually switch from karaoke to dance and festive music and do some announcements and get the toast drinks ready and also do the auld song then kick it with some very energetic stuff. I downloaded the free counter from the earlier link and am excited to use it. Like you said I will also not turn it on till maybe 15 or 30 min before... I will wait till I see what kind of crowd I have. I love these ideas though!
