I need to buy a laptop. Does anyone know if all versions of Windows 7 has the extended desktop? What version to buy?

All versions of Windows since XP support extended desktop. It shouldn't matter which version you buy.

YES! In fact it's much more streamlined in Windows 7! Plug in an extended monitor and presto, you're up and running!

Most of the low end video cards in desktop towers only handle one monitor, but for nearly all laptops that have a video out they can handle two monitors showing different things. Most of the higher end desktops video cards can handle 2 monitors and some of the top end ones can handle up to 4 independent displays showing different things.


It is more of a hardware question than software.

My dream display system would have multiple monitors showing the lyrics, one monitor for the KJ to run the show and a separate monitor for the crowd to show the upcoming rotation. (instead of having it at the bottom of the lyrics screen).

That's what I do with a separate computer.

Sax & Dottie will do that.. Laptop to run the show, with small window for the KJ to see lyrics, and extended desktop for the singer..

With s-video out, plug into the club TV and all can see..
