I don't have pictures, but I use small snakes pretty liberally. In my FoH rack I have:
1) cordless mic / FX return snake, 8 XLR that goes into mixer inputs
2) insert snake for comp/gates
3) mixer output -> FoH rack equalizer snake
4) FoH rack -> amp rack or main snake
I never unplug them, I just coil them up in the rack. All those are about 10 feet long.
Then in my amp rack, I have a 30 foot snake that is long enough to reach the main snake box or easily get to the one that comes out of the FoH rack. This one also, I never unplug.
I paid about $50 - $75 for each one, which is about the same as if I bought all those as individual cables. It is easy to hook everything up, each snake has a label on it.
I got some of them from
www.audiopile.net and they are good quality. I bought some Hosa snakes also, and those are not good. I wish I never bought the Hosa ones. I will eventually replace the connectors on them.
