I'm in the process of coverting to computer, I have a 1 Tera Byte Hard drive with the music all in separate folders. The only way I can play the song that I am looking for is to know the disc brand & #. I want to be able to put everything in just one file so I can enter the song title and be able to choose which version the singer wants. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this.

Siglos - Also listed as Power Karaoke. They advertise on this site.
I was wondering if there is some type of editing program that could be used.

Lonman, I know why you asked about which player I'm using, but it really won't matter if I am able to format the songs into a format that reads like KJ Pro. All I would have to do is click the version that I want and open it in "Siglos".
Can anyone give me information on how to do that.

That's why I asked, programs like say Compuhost will index each song internally then you just do a search through the program like KJ Pro.

Which version of siglos are you using? They have the player/recorder and then there is the professional. The Professional is like CompuHost in that it relies on a database to access the songs. With it you can access it via artist name or song title as well as disc number.

Thanks for your reply. I have the professional version and from what I understand, it's not as user friendly as compuhost. I am not the most computer literate guy, but at this time its already paid for and works.

Here is the tutorial that shows how to do the initial song import in Siglos Professional:
http://www.powerkaraoke.com/help/siglospro/source/quick_start2.htm
It should index all songs on your drive and you should be able to add them by searching by Artist. Unless the songs do not contain artist name (either in file name or in MP3 tags) -- that software have you used to rip them from CD+G discs?

Another problem that I am looking at, is that I used to work at Prosing and was allowed to buy product at company cost. The computer that I am going to use has a 80gb hard drive and I am concerned about the program being able to have the memory to handle all of the songs. That is why I got the 1 tera byte external hard drive. That is why I am looking to be able to just format the songs in the hard drive so that I can work off of it. Right now the hard drive is about 40% full.

I use Siglos player/recorder and have a T byte external as well,
I use the windows search (click on computer then hard drive top right hand is windows search) type in the name of the song and the different versions pop up pick the one I want click twice on it and it starts playing, its the simpelist way Ive found,
I tried Siglos Pro but was a pain in the hiney when it came to singers bringing their own discs, I had a seperate CDG (plextor player) but didnt read all the cust disc's.

Do you know how I can format evrything in just on folder. Sound Choice is all in one folder, inside that are the different series and inside that are the individual disc numbers. The same with Chartbuster, Zoom, Top Hits Monthly and so on. Is there a way to merge them all together with some type of editing program.

Not quite sure what your talking about there... I have 1 folder called KARAOKE FILES then in that folder there are 100's of folders, when I do a search for a song i just light up the KARAOKE FILE, folder and it will search that folder and all sub folders. hope that helps.

I left clicked the folder and right clicked search entered the song title and got what I was looking for, thank you for your help. It's not coming up quite like the KJ Pro format, but it works.
