BHB, you are such a baby, you know that? Not just a baby, but a rude one on top of that! How dare you say "
Quote:
THANKS FOR TRYING TO BE A PAIN
." to a member of this forum???? You think you're way above us, don't you. Can't handle it when someone calls your cards right??

But by telling people “GET OFF MY BACK! THIS WAS NOT A SUB FOR CRITIQUE” and “THANKS FOR TRYING TO BE A PAIN.” Is not very nice you know?

"You challenge me by saying “if ya wanna start a high dollar studio session war.. i will be happy to do it.. Bring it on, or put it a cork in it. You Can't touch this place.”

Firstly I totally agree. Not because I don’t have your claimed equipment, but I wouldn’t be seen dead with a person like you. :rotflmao:

If you want to sub something but cannot handle critique, then why don’t you say so in the description of the sub. Instead of whining about your snotty nose, say, “Please don’t say anything if you cannot tell me how wonderful I am”

You said in one of the forums
Quote:
“P.S. I also find it disturbing that 13+ members or people can look at a song and not comment... it just adds to the frustration..”
So why get all pissy if we do say something that’s not to your liking?

I know, now you’re probably going to throw out all your little toys out of your cot, but you know what, I don’t care.

I am just getting tired of your attitude. You change your story on a daily basis, and God forbid anyone saying something that doesn’t fall in your favor. According to your subs and comments you have new equipment daily (which always seems to fail for some obscure reason). We are here to sing and have fun, not to compare your studio and all the equipment to ours. Don’t you realize there are some honest to earth people here singing with a mic and soundcard and doing a fantastic job! Those are the people that deserve my respect. You just cannot stop rubbing in all the fance “stuff” you have.

BeachHeadBum, get a life, or at least, come back to earth were the normal people are.

 ps. Why don't you go cry again to Phil! I love this forum, but you're not making it very pleasant!

Isn't it easier just to ignore someone instead of stooping to nearly the same level that you are complaining about?

WillR, I have to agree with you, it easier just to ignore someone instead of stooping to nearly the same level.
Just needed to get it of my chest.

Metalgod, you always have a clear mind. The few words you wrote said way more then just a short line.

Allstar..
PLEASE, address this in the right forum.. instead of minipulating the me and the admin and bringing people who don't belong into your private war into this.. and keep it in the "Singer's showcase" forum. I think you have a problem with someone who has a legitimate reason to complain about your comments. especially when you only tell 1/2 the story to these people to make yourself look good.

Allstar... Mind your own business PLEASE! And get your own! :!: 8)
Apparently you have too much time on your own hands.

This Goes FOR You & MortenN please do not rank or comment about anything I say or do on KS again. As those will be forwarded to the admin. I personally will take them as personal attacks.

P.S. you failed to read the ID3 tag didn't ya on the sub. It said it was a "test track".

BHB,

I can certainly understand why you don't want people commenting or critiquing you if you feel they are only trying to attack you. AllStars comment seems kind of harsh....but he tells it the way he sees it and he is and he is entitled to his opinion as much as anyone else. I still would like to know if you want everyone else to comment and critique your subs even if you mark no ranking. I think if you don't want to get comments or critique you should say so. I took the comment that it was a "test track" to mean that you wanted critique to help work out whatever you were testing.

It seems to me that you feel we have nothing to offer you to help you improve. I think you are wrong. You have stated that you are not a singer and don't consider yourself one but at the same time you also stated that you sing with live bands and enter karaoke contests. It seems to me that you'ld like to be a singer. Maybe you know everything there is to know about recording and someone like me isn't qualified to give you recording advice anyway.....but I think you could use some tips to help improve your vocal ability. We might have some legitimate pointers. You'll never know if you just shut us down.

I think you misunderstood the other question I asked you. Of course I understand that a sub loses quality when you post it and your subs are ususally very well mixed as far as I can tell. What I was referring to is that every song I've seen you sub you have always said it is a test track or some equip was failing and I just meant that maybe you should wait until you have worked out the problems and cut a final track before you sub it. Then you can be assured that the critique is warranted.

If you don't want comments or critiques from us lowly singers who know nothing about sound quality you should state it plainly on your next sub. I'm sure we will be happy to oblige. I have no desire to attack you but accepting criticism is part of submitting songs here.

Your "somewhat reasonable" freind

wannabe,
The problems I'm listening for show up in the final upload to the site. NOT in the mix, I'm not going to waste my time working and tuning equipment and computer based recording software and downloading the appropriate "plugin's" NOT to put up commercial & competition quality recordings when that is NOT achievable.. would you? I don't think so..

I do more here than just sub songs to Karaoke Scene's Singer's Showcase.. if Some don't like it they can go sit in the corner and cry to those who care, 'Cause I make money doing what I do as my day job with this place.

That's what I have been doing.. and allstar and Morten got caught giving me a hard time about it.. Recording systems Don't just set themselves up.. there is some engineering "set-up" work to them. And radical changes take time to "Dial in".

I think you would like your projects to sound like they were the highest quality you could get too..

 Thank you.

P.S. As for the blast and the "Crybaby" things that one of you have complained about.. I'm gonna Quote a person who shall remain nameless, who is the head of a Karaoke Media manufacuring company. "...most of them really Deserve it Brian..."

I think her projects sound very professional, with a great mix and of a high standard and quality.

what I don't understand about the whole singer's forum is... you submit something for public approval or disapproval...

yet some have a thin skin about it.

THAT's the funny (strange) part about it.

When I sing, live or recorded, I am putting myself on the public chopping block. It's up to the public if they want to spare me the blade or bring it resoundingly down HARD. And it does happen.

As for the singer's forum, the whole reason I've not put something in, is my .mp3 files are larger than they accomodate on there. When i've tried to compress further, the sound quality suffers a bit... would rather not risk the execution squad!! Especially by people that run pro sound, and talk about it all the time.

Matt

allstar.. I hate to break this to you but this the way you act...your name is anything but just that. get some class. Because you post songs in the very same forum...

And some how Phill our very same "webguru" noted that I have been the only one to post a Highly Compressed 7:00 song, and did not suffer the audio degredation that was discussed. Amazing that point is mute.

It's all in the tools and education. and if I can do it without a huge expense anyone can. I did that song on a "freeware" program that about 5-7 singers in the same forum also have. Not 800K in equipment so I think allstar had no point to cry about. he's just griping about a sliver under his mental skin.

Amazing how people get so jealous over a cheeze sandwich.

P.S. Thanks to those who are supporting my view on this.. I appreciate the support.. Amazing how ya find out where the people in the "Discussion Forum" sit when they post and the others send ya e-mail.

P.S.S. Thanks Deb!!!

It's NOT mute (I think you were talking about "Moot", but whatever Image). I just brought it up. I have listened to 40K.wav files that I have converted to a 9K .mp3g, and not noticed a superb lack of clarity.... but I have noticed it. However that's understandable. But when I compress that same file even further down in size, probably using the same freeware program, it has a SEVERE lack of degredation... even to the naked ear.

and on semi-good recordings that PASS at 40K... it's just not an option to take it down further! LOL!

It's why I've not participated in the Singer's section. I celebrate your right to do so, however, but please understand that the Singer's forum is very limited, and I for one don't want to participate in that limitation.

My voice is bad enough. Compressing it to that ninth degree isn't going to be good, though! LOL!

Matt

Matt,

Personally, I'd be very happy to hear ya put one or two tracks up, reguardless of quality (audio or singing) The whole idea to me is to have fun doing it. unlike the others, who are in it for competition. Personally I don't give a Rat's A** how others sound unless they ask how they sound, I'm just glad to see people having fun doing it and not being trolls about the showcase and the forums..

The original idea was based on the same Idea of the karaoke shows "To get out and have fun doing it!"

So be it. :D

Brian,

I thought I read in several threads that you were complaining about not enough people giving honest critiques. So I tried to accomodate you. I stand behind my critique, every word of it is true. I am sorry if you couldn't handle the truth. (You are so busy telling everyone else how far off pitch they are. Did you ever try that on yourself?)
I will, however, respect your wishes and neither listen to your subs nor comment on them.

Regarding your posts to the forum, I still retain the right to correct your incorrect assertions, such as when you claimed that you were recording wihtout A/D conversion with your digital mixer.

Have a nice day,

Morten

tell ya what Brian. When I have time either tonight or Sunday, I'll submit one I've done that I'm pretty proud of.

Then let people critique the heck outta it. I know what I like about it... and that's hard. Most people have a hard time listening to songs that they did, and I for one, really like this song.

Matt,
Personally... I'll listen but will not critique or comment.. let them decide... there are some real Pros and Semi-professionals out there.. Better yet.. Send it to Peter Parker.. If it's really that good he might put it on "That's Karaoke" and I'm being honest. And I know Phill will give ya an honest and "level headed" critique too. 8)

I guess since I never really got an answer to my question I'll just assume that if someone subs a song it is open to comments and critique unless they state clearly that they don't want any comments.

Matt,

I would also like to hear you sub something. You seem like someone who can accept whatever comes from it. I don't think anyone is going to be unreasonable when it comes to commenting your subs. As a rule most people are very friendly and constructive...... even too nice most of the time. I think most of us try not to let personal feelings get in the way of my comments even if we find someone to be irritating or rude in the forums aor when giving a response to coments. We try to give them honest feedback and I think we all expect the same in return. I'm sure I've irritated a few people in the forums myself, but I expect to get honest feedback in the showcase.

It would be nice to hear what you have to say about our subs as well.
